Page 67 of Carnage Island
It rivals my own level of fondness—which is around a negative one hundred on the scale of zero to ten.
“Killing him will be an act of war,” Tieran continues. “A war we are not ready for yet given more than half the island just challenged us over Clove.”
“They were lost to the rut,” I say. “And the fact we beat them without permanently killing them should win us some favor.”
“And nearly half of the Alphas proved strong enough to control their urges,” Volt adds. “They’re worthy warriors, T.”
“Worthy but not quite ready. I need their devotion and respect. It’s the only way we’ll win this fight.” He draws his fingers through Clove’s silky brown hair, the color reminding me of dark chocolate. It matches her eyes, which pop beautifully against her alabaster skin.
Gorgeous,I think, momentarily distracted by her beauty.
The three of us should be lost to the rut now, down here surrounded by her Omega perfume.
But we’re oddly in control.
Perhaps because her heat hasn’t truly started yet. That playtime before was just a prelude to the event to come.
Volt and Tieran’s knots temporarily sated her initial lust. But when she wakes, this room will become a beautiful display of carnality.
And I cannot fucking wait.
“Winning this Omega will give you their devotion,” Volt says quietly, his gaze on our sweet Clove. “It’s the final stage of your Alpha legacy.”
It’s what we’ve been working toward for a decade. Being sent here seven years ago was a minor setback that we quickly used to our advantage. That event is the source that carved the path of our joint future.
The day Tieran was framed for murder.
“Do you find it ironic that Clove was also framed for murder?” I wonder out loud, shifting the topic with my thoughts. “Or is it too coincidental?” She came from the pack that framed him, after all.
“Do you think she’s here to fuck with us?” Tieran asks.
“Do you?” I counter. He didn’t claim her. I know it’s because he’s not done testing her. But are the coincidences of her arrival holding him back as well?
His fingers are still in her hair, his eyes sliding down to take in her delicate features. She’s fully exposed with just her calves twisted in the sheets. It’s common for an Omega in heat to be too warm so we didn’t cover her.
But it’s also for our benefit as we can see her toned thighs, shapely hips designed to take an Alpha’s knot, flat stomach, and pert tits.
She’s stunning.
A feisty wolf wrapped up in a tiny Omega package.
I draw my palm up her thigh, loving the way goose bumps trail in the wake of my touch. She’s still lost to sleep but her body knows her intended mate.
Her nipples bead as though she can sense our eyes on her.
And the sweet aroma of fresh slick graces the air, making all three of us rumble in hungry approval.
“If she’s been sent here to fuck with us, it’s without her knowledge,” Tieran says, the authority in his tone suggesting he’s not willing to debate his decision.
As I agree with him, I don’t bother trying.
And Volt merely smiles. “Set up or not, she’s ours now. And I look forward to killing her former punkass betrothed.”
I smirk. “Blades or bullets?”
“Blades,” he replies without missing a beat. “He’ll suffer.” The promise isn’t just in his words, but his eyes, too. Volt likes to kill. He lives to spill the blood of others. It’s why he’s so good at what he does.
I nod. “Good.” I’ll be claiming a front row seat for that event. Watching Volt kill never gets old.
