JASON
It had been a stressful month, which had only been heightened by Patrick playing hard to get.
After the most intense orgasm of his life, Jason had panicked and left before Patrick woke up in the morning, but as soon as he was out the door, he regretted it, so had sent a text.
It was clear Patrick was waiting for some signal from Jason to take things further, but he wasn’t a mind reader.
He’d done all of his usual mating rituals, and the daddy wasn’t biting.
They’d been spending more time together, although it had all been in public.
Dinners and shows were great, but Jason needed a pounding.
He hadn’t gone this long without being fucked since he’d lost his virginity at fifteen to the straight captain of the football team, but that was another story.
There had been no conversation about them being in a relationship, but Jason felt wrong about being with any other guys.
One thing Patrick was doing was helping Jason prep for his upcoming interview for the Chief People Officer role.
He’d decided to go for it in the end, mainly because he didn’t want to hurt Jane’s feelings.
However, he hadn’t mentioned it to his brothers, as he didn’t want the extra pressure.
They didn’t even know Jane was leaving, because they would put two and two together.
His brothers knew something was going on with Patrick ever since they’d turned up at Charlie’s moving-in party together.
Whenever Patrick demanded obedience from Jason, he felt compelled to obey.
What the fuck was that about? He wasn’t getting orgasms as a reward.
His brothers kept asking what was going on, and he was being cagey because he didn’t know himself.
They’d misinterpreted that as there being something serious between them.
It did feel like they were more than just friends, and Patrick made him feel safe, which was something he needed even more since Grant had resurfaced.
Jason hadn’t seen him yet, but Langdon had.
When Jason had met Grant, he hadn’t made the connection between the man he was falling for and one of his brothers.
It was only when he was in too deep that he’d discovered Grant’s connection to Langdon, and why his brother hated the man.
He was so in love with Grant by then that he made a choice to cut his brothers off.
Jason couldn’t bear to lie to them, so it had been the only way.
When he’d come back to London, they’d never questioned what he’d been doing for four years.
If they knew, he wasn’t sure Langdon would ever forgive him.
Since the birthday card, Jason had heard nothing from Grant, and only knew what he was up to because he was getting involved in Langdon’s business.
Something Jason was keeping out of. Patrick was a welcome distraction, but he knew Grant wouldn’t stay away for long.
They needed to talk, because Jason wanted a divorce, but he wasn’t ready for that conversation yet.
Grant had always had a way of getting under his skin, and he doubted that would have changed in the last two years.
The man had only become even more dangerous.
After another hectic day at work, he was meeting Charlie for a drink.
It had been a long time since it was just the two of them.
Ever since Charlie had moved in with Sebastian, they got no time together just the two of them.
Jason knew he was needy. He loved all his brothers, but Charlie was his bestie.
It was probably because they were the same age, although so was Gregory, but he wasn’t one for unfiltered conversations.
They were meeting in the city, close to Jason’s office.
Charlie now worked for Sebastian. Jason wasn’t sure if he could work and live with someone, but if it worked for his friend, he was happy for him, even if he missed seeing him every day.
Once he saw Charlie, he ran towards him and jumped into his arms. Charlie had a few inches on him, in more ways than one.
His bestie was hung like a horse, but was also a total bottom, and who wouldn’t be when they had someone like Sebastian railing them every night?
“What’s that look for?” asked Charlie.
“Just thinking about hot it must be to get fucked by Sebastian every night.”
Charlie went bright red, which was cute. “We don’t do it every night.”
“Why not?” asked Jason, horrified.
“There’s more to our relationship than sex, you know.”
“I know that, sweetie, but if I had a husband, I’d be wanting the D every night.”
“I have a boyfriend. You’re the one with a husband,” Charlie whispered.
“I know, and whenever he was home, he delivered the goods.”
“Every night?”
Jason nodded. Grant might have been an arsehole at the end, but the one thing Jason would never fault him for was the man knew how to fuck.
It hadn’t been as often towards the end, but that didn’t make the story as interesting.
Grant liked to take control as well, but it differed from what Patrick had done to him.
That had felt too intimate, which was what had freaked him out, but he loved cuddles so had stayed until morning.
Patrick had been such an amazing big spoon.
Jason smiled, thinking about their night together.
“You’re not fantasising about your ex, are you?” asked Charlie.
“Of course not. I was thinking about Daddy.”
“Patrick?”
“Who else would I be talking about?”
“I never know with you.”
“Cheek. I haven’t been with anyone else since Pride night.”
Charlie looked dumbstruck. Jason couldn’t help but laugh, but before he could respond, the server came over for their drinks order.
He was fit, probably mid-thirties. He had the beard and muscles vibe going on and looked Middle Eastern.
Jason found Arabic men hot, but then he found lots of men hot.
His bedroom was the most inclusive place in the world.
Everyone was welcome, apart from women. They were strictly in the friend zone.
He came out of the womb wearing a feather boa.
There was no “discovering himself” phase.
At a young age, he knew he wasn’t just gay, but a mega bottom as well.
He’d topped someone once and couldn’t even stay hard.
The server looked Jason up and down, making his interest clear, but Patrick was the only man he wanted right now.
“Wow. It’s true,” said Charlie.
“What?”
“You’re in love.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” scoffed Jason.
“I’ve never seen you like this over a guy. You have heart eyes.”
Jason scowled at Charlie, but there was no heat in it. He felt something for Patrick, but it wasn’t love. It couldn’t be. Jason had only been in love once, and this was different somehow.
“Are you two together, then?”
“No, we’re just friends. ”
“Friends who fuck!”
Jason felt himself getting red. Luckily, that was the moment their drinks arrived– unfortunately not delivered by the hot Arab guy. He would have been a welcome distraction from the look of scrutiny he was getting from Charlie.
“Come on, spill,” Charlie demanded.
“We haven’t fucked . . . yet.”
Charlie’s eyes widened. “So what happened on Pride night?”
“He gave me the most intense orgasm of my life with just his fingers and tongue, and . . . he wouldn’t let me touch myself.”
“Fuck! That’s hot. He’s definitely a daddy then.”
“No doubt, but it’d be full time with him.”
“How do you feel about that?”
“I don’t know. It’s always been a fantasy, but more of a bedroom thing. It’s just, he won’t touch me. We go out on dates all the time, and he listens to all my drama and gives me advice, but nothing.”
“Maybe he just wants to be friends.”
“Definitely not. He wants exclusivity.”
“You’ve already given him that.”
“He doesn’t know I haven’t been playing around.”
“Why not?”
“It gives him power, doesn’t it? I can’t depend on someone like that again.”
“Patrick and Grant are nothing alike. First, one of them is a criminal and the other is hugely successful through legal means. Second, Patrick would make it his top priority to make you happy. Grant just used you as a trophy husband. He used to lock you in a room, for fuck’s sake.
You’re so lucky you got away that night. ”
Shame flooded over Jason. He’d never told Charlie why Grant was trying to lock him up, and what had happened afterwards. What could have happened if Grant hadn’t survived the fall?
“You need to talk to him, Jason. Tell him how you feel.”
“I will do, after this interview is out of the way.”
“What interview?”
Oh fuck. I shouldn’t have said that.
“What interview, Jason? Are you leaving JenSure?”
“You have to keep this to yourself. Not even Sebastian.”
“Of course.”
“Jane is leaving and I’m going for her job.”
Charlie squealed loudly, getting them a few looks.
“Be quiet,” Jason hissed.
“Why don’t you want anyone to know? This is a big deal.”
“Exactly. I only want people to know when it’s over. It’s a long shot at my age, but Jane wants me to go for it.”
“Is Jane recommending you?”
Jason nodded. Charlie’s eyes watered.
“Why are you crying?”
“It’s so inspiring.”
“What is?”
“Look at what your start in life was, and now you could be an openly gay C-suite leader of a FTSE 100 company.”
Jason flushed. He hadn’t thought of it like that. Fuck – this could be a big deal.
“Thanks for putting more pressure on me, Charlie. Can always rely on you to calm my anxiety.”
“You better smash it, then. For all those queer kids out there.”
“Bitch!”
Charlie laughed. It added to the pressure, but he was right. This was important, and he had to do everything he could to succeed .
