He licks my neck, and the groan that follows makes goose bumps scatter on my skin. “You and only you.”

“You already had me.”

“I told you one time wasn’t enough.” His fingers find my nipples, and he twists them until a moan escapes my mouth.

“You haven’t held up your end of the deal. I gave you my body in exchange for—”

“Murder,” he fills in, squeezing my nipple so harshly I have to put my hand to my mouth to keep the squeal from coming out. “And I will bring you death … when I’m done having my way with you.” He smiles against my skin. “Now come and find me upstairs where the real fun begins.”

Before I can even turn around, he’s already disappeared into the crowd. I push past some people standing in my way, but he’s quicker on his feet, and by the time I reach the end of the mass of people, he’s gone, along with my knife.

Goddammit.

I head up one of the wooden staircases with intricate designs on them, the wood itself, carved with skulls, instilling a chill in my bones as I grasp the railing and make my way to the top. These poorly lit, old Victorian hallways still give me the creeps, but I push on and knock on every door I pass, waiting to hear someone say something, but there’s not one sound.

I slowly open each door I come across, glancing inside to see if there’s anyone there, but it’s just one giant metallic red room filled with a ton of strange-looking objects, ranging from a wooden pillory to a Saint Andrew’s cross to an actual metal cage in the back.

Holy shit.

Curiosity gets the best of me, and I step inside to have a quick look at everything that’s on the wall and in the cabinets. Rows and rows of whips, paddles, and chains, and all sorts of toys line the cabinets, from plugs to actual dildos and vibrators, and anything else one could think of.

The door suddenly closes behind me, and I jolt up and down from the sound and the total darkness that follows.

“Who’s there?” I ask.

“Do you really need to ask?”

Ghost.

“This room … you wanted to show me this?” I ask.

“I wanted you to see all the possibilities,” he says with an unusually low voice, and I can hear him step closer. “All the ways I can make you beg. All the ways I will make youmine.”

I squeal when a sudden hand fists my hair and tilts my head back.

“You’re insane if you think I’m yours,” I grit back.

His free hand slowly slides up my body all the way from my belly to my chest as he whispers, “You may think you have a boyfriend, but he will never touch you like I will, and he will never know you the way I will know every fucking inch of this delectable body. And by the time I’m done with you, all you’ll feel when he touches you is the desire forme.”

This is my playground, and she is a willing player in my devious games.

There is not a thing on this earth I wouldn’t do to make her mine. She has yet to understand the full depth of my depravity, but she will. In sheer and utter darkness, I come alive.

There’s no undoing the choice she made. Her body belongs to me now, and I will use it as I see fit like a goddamn toy to play with.

She tries to jerk free from my grip and attempts to punch me, but only hits air. So I put my knife underneath her throat and whisper, “Are you going to play along nicely? Or do you want me to give you the same scar you gave me?”

I can’t see her eyes widen, but I can definitely feel her breath hitch underneath the blade.

“Nod if you’ll be a good girl.”

When she finally does, I push her forward and grab a ball gag off the cabinet, then force her to spin around so her ass is against my bulge.

“Open your mouth.”
