Page 57 of Bite The Power That Feeds
“We would be honored,” Viper said immediately. “We’re just surprised you’d want us.”
“We’re idiots,” Cobra said.
“You are not idiots,” I said. “You’re the closest thing I’ve ever had to brothers…and your kindness and companionship have meant the world to me. I know you do it for Kingsnake, but it’s touched my heart, nonetheless.”
Cobra stared at the floor for a while, like he wasn’t comfortable with all the touchy-feely stuff. “When he was married to Ellasara, none of us made an effort with her. Aurelias hated her the most. So we aren’t kind to you just for Kingsnake. We’re kind to you because we like you.” He raised his eyes and looked at me. “You’re the hottest sister a guy could ask for.” He smiled, telling me it was just a joke. “But don’t tell him I said that.”
I smiled. “I won’t.”
“Should we do the hug thing?” Cobra asked. “Have we ever hugged?”
“I—I’m not sure if we have,” I said.
Both men hugged me, and it turned into an awkward group hug.
Then the door opened, and Kingsnake entered.
“Shit, get out!” Cobra turned and blocked my body with his. “Don’t you knock?”
“Don’t look.” Viper tried to cover his brother’s face with his hand.
Kingsnake smacked it down. “What the fuck are you doing with my fiancée?”
“I’m in my wedding dress,” I explained. “And it’s bad luck if you see it.”
Kingsnake stopped fighting his brother and closed his eyes. “Good. I thought I was about to kill both of you.”
Viper got him out the door before he shut it.
“Damn, that was close.” Cobra stopped blocking me and faced me again. “Change before he sees you. Otherwise, he’s going to marry you right here, right now, and we’ll all miss it.” He winked before he walked into the hallway.
“Why are you guys looking at my wife in her wedding dress?” Kingsnake said from outside the door.
“She wanted us to see it,” Cobra said. “Asked for our opinion.”
“You guys don’t have opinions,” he said coldly.
“I don’t know…” Cobra said. “I had a pretty strong opinion about that dress—”
“I just got home, and you want to start shit?” Kingsnake said.
“Only because it’s so much fun.”
By the time Kingsnake entered the bedroom with Fang, I had changed out of my dress. Now it hung in the closet in a protective covering so he couldn’t see it. I was in just my bra and underwear and didn’t bother to put on something else, because after a couple days apart, I suspected he would rip everything off anyway.
His sour mood that his brothers caused was immediately gone when he looked at me. He stepped into me, his big arms circling me and giving me an embrace that was so strong it was practically crushing. He was still in his armor, so it was my skin against steel, but that was still better than the softness of the empty bed. His mouth met mine and took it aggressively, and then the blazing heat followed. All those emotions wrapped around me like the safest cocoon, and I felt just how much he’d missed me.
Then his hands were in my hair, on my body, yanking off my panties and snapping my bra open. He kissed me as he removed his own clothing, as he dropped every piece of armor and backed me up to the bed. His sword was placed at the edge, and he kicked off his boots before he removed his pants.
Once he was totally free, he was on top of me, my body folded underneath his. Even if I couldn’t see his face or feel his touch, he would still turn me on. How he felt about me…was the biggest turn-on in my life. It was so heavy, so pressing, so desperate. It made me wet without a single touch, without even hearing his voice.
His hand took its usual place around my throat, and he squeezed it as he entered me. “Did you miss me, sweetheart?”
“Yes.”
He sank deep inside, surrounded by my wetness. “You did.” His thumb rested in the corner of my mouth as he anchored me to the sheets. Then he started to thrust, slow and steady at first, working up to a pace that made the headboard tap against the wall.
“I missed you so much…”
