The other end of the line is so quiet, I have to check to make sure our call is still connected. “Excuse me?”

I wave a dismissive hand. “I handled it.”

I swear it sounded like he just growled. “Handledwhat?”

“He was trying to rattle me. Get another cheap shot in, as if his interview full of lies wasn’t bad enough. I suspected it earlier when I read the article, but after seeing his face, I’ve no doubt there’s a green-eyed monster living inside of him. I honestly don’t think he’d care asmuch if I was seeing anyonebutyou. He tucked tail pretty quickly though, so I don’t think he’ll be much of a problem going forward.”

“He’ll be fucking sorry if he tries.”

I finally crack a grin. “Don’t worry, babe. I put him in his place. I told him he wouldn’t know how to make a woman come if he had navigation to her clit. And then I told him you’ve made me come harder and more often than I ever thought possible.”

“Jesus, Pip,” Logan sputters.

I grin. “What? It’s true.”

He chuckles. “I hope I never get on your bad side.”

I laugh. “Impossible.”

“Well, now I’m hardandflattered. Remind me to thank you for the compliment later. With my tongue.”

A shiver runs through me. “You can count on it, mister.”

Logan clears his throat. “For real though, you’re okay? Do you need me to swing by and pick you up?”

“I’m okay,” I assure him, the remaining tension from the day finally draining from my body. “Hearing your voice put me back in my happy place.”

“You’remy happy place, Rosie.”

I smile. “Same. I’ll see you soon, okay? I love you.”

“I love you, too, Pip. Always.”

I close my eyes, soaking up the moment of peace.
