Night looked down as she tugged at his trousers and groaned again, his shaft stiffening as it dawned on him where this was going. He wanted to be inside her too. Ached for her. He pushed her dress up and she raised her arms, allowing him to pull it off over her head. She flopped back onto the bed as he cast it aside and tackled his trousers as he unfastened her bra and shredded her panties with his claws.

She scowled at him for that one.

He wiped it off her face by spreading her thighs and guiding his cock into her.

She moaned and clutched his left shoulder as he inched into her, joining them, and her eyes fluttered closed as he withdrew and plunged back in, setting a slow rhythm.

“Look at me, Lilian,” he husked.

Her eyes opened, sparkling with silver stars and hunger as she tracked his hand as he brought it up to his throat. He drew a line on the arch of it with his claw, tempting her. Her tongue poked out, driving him wild as she flicked it over her lips, and then she was on him. Her mouth closed over the tiny wound and he groaned and shuddered as she sucked on it, drawing his blood to her.

Pleasure crashed over him, exquisite bliss that was almost as startling as the connection he felt to her as his blood flowed into her, nourishing her. She moaned against his throat and he groaned with her, every inch of him as hard as stone as hunger pounded inside him.

A need to mark her too.

Night dropped his head and sank his fangs into her throat.

She cried out, the sound muffled as she refused to release his neck. She sucked harder as he made his first pull on her blood. Good gods. He shuddered, the pleasure so intense he spilled as he rocked into her, craving more even when he felt sure it would kill him. She cried again, her body throbbing around his, greedily pulling him deeper, and he moaned in time with her as his entire body trembled and shook.

Lilian released his neck and licked it, the tenderness of the action warming his soul, but not as much as the single word she softly whispered in his ear.

“Mine.”

Night groaned and released her, swiped his tongue over the puncture marks and looked at them, and then into her eyes.

He pressed his forehead to hers and then kissed her, silently thanking fate for placing her in his path and bringing them together.

A witch had killed him once. She had failed to take his head, but she had left him so cold and dark it was as if he was dead.

And now a witch had brought him back to life.

He would thank the gods for the gift of her every day of the years he intended to share with her.

And one day, they would find the way to grant her wish, because he wanted it with all his heart too—a heart that was now hers.

She would officially be his mate.

But until then, he would make sure she knew he belonged to her and she belonged to him, and he was never letting her go.

He brushed his lips across hers and breathed against them.

A single word that he felt to the very depths of his soul.

“Mine.”
