"Who says I don’t have love for you."

These words almost slipped out of Gu Mochen’s mouth without a second thought.

Suddenly, there came an urgent knocking on the car door.

It brutally interrupted the words Gu Mochen wanted to say.

"Mommy, Daddy, are you inside?"

Tang Bao’s concerned voice rose from outside the car, causing Jian Ran’s eyes to flicker.

As for the words Gu Mochen had left unfinished, she simply chose to ignore them. Gu Mochen frowned slightly; some things were just incredibly inconvenient.

"Daddy... don’t bully Mommy, okay?"

Jian Ran: "..."

Gu Mochen: "..."

The presence of the child outside seemed to soothe the previously agitated atmosphere, especially upon hearing the little girl’s voice.

Gu Mochen’s thin lips pursed as he lifted himself off Jian Ran, and she quickly straightened herself up.

Her red lips, freshly ravaged by Gu Mochen, looked even more vivid, infusing the cramped space of the car with an ambiguous and romantic air.

"Mommy... please open the door quickly..."

"Mommy’s here... Gu Mochen, open the door."

"Okay."

Shit...

Gu Mochen raised his hand to open the inside of the car, only to see Secretary Zhou leading Tang Bao standing outside.

Tang Bao’s clever big eyes looked at Jian Ran, whose face was somewhat pale, and at Gu Mochen, whose face was ashen. She then spoke up in her soft, milky voice.

"Daddy, Mommy, did you guys have a fight?"

Secretary Zhou: "..."

Miss Tang Bao’s question was indeed very straightforward.

They indeed had a quarrel.

Just now, the female secretary called to say that President Gu and Miss Jian seemed to have had a tiff.

And she mentioned something about a trip to the pharmacy.

Secretary Zhou’s mind raced, and he asked the female secretary to check it out; it turned out to be contraceptive pills.

Good grief...

So, he immediately took Tang Bao and came looking for them, thankfully just in time.

Secretary Zhou felt that he deserved full marks for his quick thinking.

If President Gu got angry now and did something to Miss Jian, he would be the one regretting it later on.

Secretary Zhou was one hundred and twenty percent loyal to Gu Mochen.

"No, Daddy was just discussing with Mommy about having a younger brother for Tang Bao."

Gu Mochen’s lips curved into a faint smile as he stepped out of the car and held Tang Bao in his arms.

His cool gaze didn’t linger long on Jian Ran.

A chill swept directly toward Secretary Zhou in front of him, blaming the man for meddling.

Secretary Zhou’s face changed color, and he knew he had angered President Gu.

Why... couldn’t President Gu see his sincere loyalty, oh dear...

Secretary Zhou felt stifled.

...

Tang Bao pouted, noting that Gu Mochen’s handsome face was still stern, and she murmured softly.

"Umm... if Daddy and Mommy are discussing having a little brother, why isn’t Daddy holding Mommy’s hand when walking? Oh dear, Daddy, our Mommy is clumsy, she needs Daddy to hold her hand, otherwise she’ll fall."

Tang Bao’s voice was soft and pleasant to hear.

Particularly when she spoke in her baby voice, she was irresistibly adorable.

Jian Ran heard this and felt even more awkward.

The little girl might be small, but having possibly lacked a father’s presence in her life, she was incredibly perceptive.

She could see through the tensions between Jian Ran and Gu Mochen in an instant.

Gu Mochen pursed his thin lips, and with his left hand still holding Tang Bao, he reached out his right hand to hold Jian Ran’s small hand.
