“I don’t really get impressed by things that can be bought. I’ve had the world at my feet for as long as I can remember.”
“Talk yo shit then,” I encouraged, gripping her hand and walking her towards the house.
I hit the front door panel with my thumbprint, and the door unlocked with a soft click. As I opened the door, the darkened home instantly lit up one room at a time. Slow, warm, and welcoming.
“So what did you bring me to your house for?” She pried once we were inside.
“This isn’t my house, this is my parents’ crib.”
“So this is what you do? Pick up randoms and bring them back to your parents’ house?”
She side eyed me and I emitted a loud laugh.
“Nah, only the ones I stalk on TikTok,” I admitted, washing my hands in the kitchen sink.
Marissa emitted a deep laugh that time, standing on the opposite side of the sink. I turned and went into the refrigerator, retrieving the blue and white box with green cursive letters sprawled across the front.
“San Sebastián, that sounds familiar,” Marissa commented, reading the letters on the box. “What’s that?”
“Only the best slice of cheesecake you will ever find in Miami,” I declared, pulling the box open so she could get a good look at the masterpiece.
“This ain’t that shit you find in plastic domes from some chain bakery.
” Marissa raised a brow, intrigued by my dramatics.
“This is that imported Basque-style cheesecake. It comes from a tiny shop tucked between a wine bar and boutique in Coral Gables. The only man who runs it barely speaks English, but he knows to have one prepared for my mother every week. He’s from San Sebastián where my parents got married, and only makes ten cakes a day. ”
Marissa’s eyes swiveled between me and the cake as a wide grin spread across her face.
“Wait… are you serious?” She gasped, stepping closer to the counter with her mouth agape. “This is that place?”
I nodded, leaning the cake down so she could get a full view. The golden top always had the perfect caramelized finish, slightly cracked and sunken in the center.
“Do you know how long I’ve been trying to get my hands on one of these?” She bubbled, bouncing around the counter with a huge grin on her face. “They don’t even have a website. I tried to find them after seeing someone post about them on TikTok.”
I placed the cake on the counter and went to retrieve the plates and forks while Marissa washed her hands.
She was glowing now because this was the type of shit that impressed her.
Bouncing on the heels of her feet, Marissa grabbed the plates and sat them on the counter.
I pulled a knife from the drawer below the cake to cut two slices.
She was giddy as fuck, rubbing her hands together while I plated the cake.
She snatched up her plate and shoveled a spoonful of cake into her mouth.
Her eyes closed and she emitted a loud moan that sent my mind to the gutter.
I watched as she ignored me and enjoyed another bite of cake, oblivious to the world around her just like in those videos.
Everything about Marissa had driven me crazy up to this point, but somehow even the way she chewed had me on edge.
Her bites were small and deliberate. Then the little dance she did, slightly shaking her hips while she enjoyed the cheesecake, almost made me emit a low growl.
That was the final straw. That subtle, carefree gesture brought my dick to life without her even trying.
I could only imagine what would happen if she put forth effort.
When Marissa’s eyes popped open and she saw me admiring her, she dropped her fork and placed her hands over her face.
“I’m sorry. You just don’t understand. This is what heaven tastes like.”
“You straight. Enjoy and you can take the cake home,” I offered, trying to distract her from my body’s natural reaction.
“Really?” She perked up after placing another spoonful in her mouth. I nodded and she beamed, slowly and dramatically chewing the cake.
“See what stalking your TikTok got me? Pure bliss. Right there on your face,” I said, smiling as I leaned against the counter, taking my time watching the show that was Marissa. “That’s all I need. I’m playing the long game.”
Marissa finished her slice of cheesecake, then placed the fork down on the plate with a look of satisfaction on her face.
Her eyes locked onto me, and this time there was an unmistakable glint dancing in her eyes.
She was no longer looking at me as the man who made a few disparaging comments about her son or the one who had broken into her hotel suite with a masseuse.
She was seeing something else now. Something more dangerous. More permanent.
She studied me like a riddle she suddenly wanted to solve. And I felt it. Something inside me ignited and spread like heat through my chest because the feeling was mutual. And if she was really seeing me now, I had no intention of letting her look away.
“Welllll,” Marissa’s words dragged as she noticed the tent in my pants.
“Ohhhhhh you’re going to be in trouble,” Amill’s snickering tore my stare from Marissa.
She stumbled into the house with her cousins from her mother’s side right on her heels. I was desperate to impress Marissa, and the fact that Amill was out on the yacht slipped my mind. Her cousins remained close to the back sliding glass door, and I stood from the counter, clearing my throat.
“Marissa, this is my daughter Amill. Amill, this is Marissa.” I offered introductions.
“Hi Marissa, it’s nice to meet you,” she greeted her.
“It’s nice to meet you as well.”
Amill strutted over in our direction, and Marissa quickly moved in front of me, shielding most of my body from my daughter.
I was thankful for that because Amill’s nosey ass didn’t stop walking until she was right next to Marissa and me.
“I just had to see you up close, make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me because I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing my dad with a woman.
I was starting to wonder if we’d be at a pride event in the near future. ”
That comment did it and even the feel of Marissa’s ass pressing against my hard dick couldn’t keep me up. “Don’t play with me, Amill.”
“I’m just saying,” she chuckled. “You are a fashionable baddie, Marissa. Now this I can get behind.” Amill bubbled, raising her hand and tapping her pointer and middle finger together. “Clock it.”
“Period!” Amill’s cousins yelled from the living room.
Marissa blushed and I could get used to this shit. They were already meshing well.
“So how long have you two been dating? When is the wedding?” She pointed between us.
“Alright Amill, we about to head out before you think you can interrogate us,” I cut in. The last thing I needed Amill to know was the truth about how we ended up here eating cheesecake. “I’ll be back to pick you up at 9. Make sure you and your cousins don’t tear the place up.”
“We won’t!” Amill called back as I ushered Marissa towards the door.
I exhaled when we made it outside. “I can already tell she runs you. How old is she?”
“Eighteen going on fucking thirty,” I admitted with a chuckle. “Our kids are in the same age range, so that works out perfectly.”
“You really were all up in my business, huh?” Marissa inquired.
“I had to do my research,” I admitted, opening her door so she could climb in. “Shit, let me go grab the cheesecake for you to take home.”
I closed her door and jogged back into the house.
The girls were no longer occupying the first floor; they were probably upstairs in Amill’s room.
Grabbing the cheesecake from the counter, I rushed back out the door to find the driveway empty.
My mouth flew open, and my head tilted to the side. She couldn’t run forever.
