Colt: *thumbs-up*

Text Chat

Colby: Did you get hauled in for questioning again?

Zee: No. But the sergeant came to the Seven Cs to discuss Colton’s alibi

Calder: Why? Isn’t it cut and dry?

Zee: Nothing is with me lol.

Carson: I hate this town sometimes.

Zee: Me too.

Carson: I’m sorry you had to come back, Zee

Zee: Hey, it’s not your fault

Colby: We could have tried harder around the ranch. The things Colt’s been teaching us, we should have learned a long time ago.

Zee: I’m curious why you didn’t. Walker was dragged into lessons when he was a brat

Calder: She kind of gave up when we ran away from every lesson.

Calder: Maybe the ranch wouldn’t be as in the red if we’d tried though. *shrugs* I think Carson’s right. We do owe you an apology.

Carson: If this BS has proven anything, it’s that the no-good McAllisters will always be the ones who get blamed.

Zee: Don’t say that. Look, everything’ll be fine. I’ll make sure of it.

Calder: Did they really not believe the alibi you gave Colt?

Zee: They did when I detailed everything from what he was wearing to the sandwich we ate lol.

Zee: Hey, aren’t you supposed to be in class?

Colby: We won’t tell anyone if you don’t

Zee

Anchor - Novo Amor

“Iwas thinking about inviting your family over for a BBQ soon.”

My eyes widen as they dart from the apps on my phone where I check in with my blood sugar. I had to change my pump site today and already got the tube caught on a goddamn doorhandle. Some days, I get so sick of this shit I want to scream. Still, that’s not Colt’s fault.

Tiredly, I mutter, “Um. Why?”

“You’ve had to put up with mine. In close quarters. Figured I should do the same in return.”

“Thanks.”

His grin is hidden by the morning’s newspaper, but I saw it.

He thinks he’s so clever.

“Heard you were teaching the triplets how to shoot.”
