“We need to talk,” I said, scooping the towel up from the floor. I wrapped it around my still-wet hair, and tucked it into a bun. “But not until all three of you are together.”

“Maverick lands tomorrow,” said Gage. “We’re supposed to pick him up in Phoenix.”

“Phoenix!” My eyes glowed. “Perfect.”

The elevator doors slid open, as they’d opened for Robert Valentine days before. A lot of things had changed since then. And thanks to the work crews they were still changing, even as we stood there.

“You didn’t…” Devyn swore, after a brief moment of confusion.

“I did.”

Devyn’s expression went from bewilderment to total elation. His smile said everything.

“Really?”

I met him mid-hug, squeezing him back. His grin was infectious.

“Really,” I breathed. “Yes!”
