“So most of the filming will be on set in LA,” I tell him. “And the other half will be…about an hour from here.”

“Oh my fuck, love, this is the best news. I’m so damned proud of you.”

Princess, who is now roughly the size of a house tiger, meows loudly, demanding treats.

It’s been six months of a long-distance relationship, and while it hasn’t been easy all the time, it’s been good. Really good.

“I’ve never been happier than I am right now,” I tell him, then bite my lip. “Sorry.”

He huffs a laugh. “Why are you apologizing?”

“Because I didn’t exactly mean to get all sappy on you,” I say.

Luke’s hands go to my hips, possessive and sweet all at once. “I like when you’re sappy. In fact”—he tilts his head, kissing one corner of my mouth, then the other—“you might say I love it. I love everything about you.”

“Even my Gollum impression in bed,” I say seriously.

He cringes slightly, and I laugh, because he absolutely hates it.

Which makes it ten times funnier.

Luke gives my hips an affectionate squeeze, and suddenly it’s not enough just to be in his arms.

I moan, kissing him again. His tongue slides against my lips, and I part them for him, desire roaring to life as his strong body presses against mine.

Then Luke Wolfe proves to me just how much he loves it when I get sappy over him.

He proves it several times.
