Only he practiced torture techniques on me. He needed to make sure they hurt. It did. Now he’s dead and I’m trapped inside a cage in the basement, trying to figure a way out. Until some masked man showed up, and I was not prepared for him. Or what I was going to have to do.

She’s feisty and doesn’t listen when I tell her no. More importantly, she’s not scared of me. She looks me in the eye, she laughs at me, and she says whatever is on her mind. She enrages me—someone I shouldn’t want, but someone I need. She sees me for who I am; she sees me as more than a monster in a mask.
