Story: Possession
It’s absolute paradise.
“Only someone like you could find us a private island for our honeymoon.”
“I have to admit, Ben came through.”
We’re walking together, wading our feet in the soft waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
Hunter laces his fingers through mine, his grip strong, steady—unchanging. The waves lap gently at our ankles, the water warm and soothing, as if the entire ocean is blessing us in its embrace.
“Did you ever imagine when you started working at the Blue Whiskey that you’d end up here…with me?” he asks, his deep voice gravelly, softened by the ocean breeze.
I chuckle. “Never.”
“You happy?”
I glance up at him, my heart swelling at the sight of this man—my husband—my forever. His lips twitch like he’s trying not to smirk because he already knows the answer.
“I am,” I whisper.
His thumb brushes my palm. “Good answer.”
I exhale, watching the horizon, the endless stretch of blue that reminds me of everything ahead of us.
A lifetime.
A family.
A love that will never break, never waver.
“What about you?” I ask softly, turning toward him. “Are you happy?”
Hunter doesn’t hesitate.
He stops walking, pulling me into him, pressing his forehead to mine.
“Never been happier in my fucking life,” he murmurs.
My lips curve into a smile.
The waves kiss our feet, the breeze wraps around us, and in this perfect, stolen moment, I know?—
This is our forever.
The beginning of everything.
And I wouldn’t change a damn thing.
