Story: Playing With Fire
“I could go for another big job. Knock me off my ass for a bit.”
“That’s the spirit!” I shouted.
“So…we’re good now?” Cap asked, getting to his feet. “You’re done freaking out?”
“I’m not freaking out. I’m…” I sighed and walked toward the door, shouting over my shoulder. “Just go back to your wax jobs.”
But before the door swung shut, I heard Cap ask, “Is it just me or did he seem a little tense to you?”
And Hunter replied, “I could get him a spa treatment.”
Yeah, like that was the problem.

SINNER
“Morning,” I smiled at Cara as she crawled up from under the sheets. She’d just given me the best morning wake-up call of my life, and I planned on returning the favor. I pressed my lips to hers, rolling her over as I slid between her legs.
“Not this morning,” she laughed around a kiss.
“Why not?”
“Because I have my period.”
I groaned, dropping my head to her chest, nuzzling my nose between her perfect breasts. “I thought I had another couple of days.”
“Sorry,” she chuckled. “Why do you think I woke you up like that?”
“Because you’re the best wife ever.”
Her hands cupped my cheeks, then forced me to look up at her. “It’s only a few days.”
“Or…” I started to move my hand around to her backside, but she stopped me, shaking her head.
“Not a chance.”
“You’ve let me before.”
“Yes, but not today.”
I narrowed my eyes at her. “Give me one good reason why.”
“I have cramps.”
“I’ll work them out.”
“That’s not the right area,” she laughed, pushing me off her.
I flopped onto my back and watched as she strode across the room, pulling her robe off the back of the door. I hated when she covered herself up, but with kids in the house, I guessed it was fine.
“What are you doing today?”
“I thought I’d go visit Alex.”
“Really?” That had me sitting up in bed. “I didn’t know you were hanging out with her.”
She spun around, shooting me a droll look. “She’s a friend.”
“That’s the spirit!” I shouted.
