“How’s it going over here?”

She ripped a piece of powdered sugar covered goodness off as she popped it into her mouth then washed it down with her drink. “Good. I’ve had steady business all day. How about you guys?”

“We sold out of rockers, and all we have left are a few smaller pieces, so all together, it’s a good day.”

A cry of delight cut through the din of the crowd as someone riding one of the carnival rides wailed.

“Are you gonna ride that with me later?” she asked, wagging her eyebrows at him.

“Not a chance, unless you want me to puke all over you.”

“No, we don’t need a repeat of the Harvest Festival from when we were thirteen.”

“No, we don’t,” he said before dropping another kiss on her lips.

She expected him to stand again, but he leaned over. The feel of his breath on her ear sent shivers up her spine, even in the heat of a late June sun. It was almost as if she could audibly hear his wolf growling inside of him when he was this close.

“Although, if you are looking for a repeat, tonight is a full moon,” he growled in her ear.

She had that shiver to contend with, plus the flood in her panties.

As she pulled back to look at him, the heat in his eyes almost overwhelmed her.

She nodded before swallowing down the lump in her throat. “Yeah, I think I’d like that.”

Later that night, after Abe and Asher had helped her pack up her tent, she was on her way home. Asher was coming back to her place after he helped Abe unload everything from his truck.

As she pulled up to her porch, she saw something sitting on the porch swing. She turned off her van and headed up to find out what it was.

There, perfectly folded, was a nearly sheer white nightgown and a handwritten note in writing she recognized that one said one word.

Run.

A shiver of desire shot through her. This was going to be fun.
