Story: Marc
“So, that will be two cheeseburgers all the way, seasoned fries, and a chocolate milkshake? Anything else?”
Marc shakes his head. “I think we are good with that.”
“Alright. It will be right up.”
Just like last time, she hangs the order sheet up for the cook before grabbing two milkshake glasses.
Marc grins and slides out of the booth and heads to the jukebox.
Just like last time, I unashamedly stare at the way his shorts hug his ass, the way his shirt clings to his arms, and the way his muscles ripple with every movement.
My core tightens with need as anticipation courses through my body.
He presses a couple of keys and I watch as the disc changes and a fun, upbeat song comes on.
Marc walks back to me and holds out his hand for me to take. Linking my hand with his, he pulls me until I am standing in front of him.
A laugh escapes my lips as he twirls me again and again.
I feel like a teenager again, with butterflies fluttering in my stomach as I dance with my boyfriend.
My boyfriend.
My smile grows as I see him watching my every move.
“You definitely know how to cheer a woman up.”
He pulls me close to his chest and wraps his arms around my waist.
“Not just any woman,mywoman.”
I love the way he says that, almost in a growl, like a man staking his claim for all to hear.
“You are almost too perfect, you know.”
He pulls away to look me in the eye.
“There is no such thing as too perfect. We just fit together like spaghetti and meatballs. Plus, I am far from perfect and don’t try to be.”
I gesture towards him. “See? Perfect.”
He chuckles and slides back into the booth. “I wish I were as perfect as you think I am. The truth is, you deserve so much more.”
How could he say that?
Sure, no one is perfect, but he has been perfect for me. If anything, he deserves someone that’s not broken and recovering from past trauma.
The waitress brings our milkshakes over and places them on the table in front of us.
She pauses for a moment before blurting out, “If you don’t mind an old lady butting in, I’ll say that I have never seen Marc this happy in all the years that he’s been coming here.”
My eyes widen. “Really?”
“Yes, and I’m not just saying that because you are the only woman he has brought here. Well, besides his sister, but I’ll leave the two of you alone to enjoy your shakes. Your meals will be here in just a few.”
She turns around and heads back to the counter.
I take a sip of my shake and whisper, “Thank you.”
Marc shakes his head. “I think we are good with that.”
