Story: Marc
I pretend to mull over the decision, watching asher expression changes to uncertainty.
“Nah. Enjoy the rest of your day and night.”
A giant smile forms on her face as she hangs Adam’s clothes back on the rack, packs up her makeup, and carries the case towards the back door.
“Thank you.” She waves as she walks outside.
Adam waves goodbye and follows Kat out the back door, leaving Marc and me alone.
My heart beats faster as I realize this is the first time I have been alone with Marc.
“How do you want me?” Marc asks, bringing my thoughts back to reality.
My mind screams on top of me, but my mouth stays focused on the task at hand.
“Whichever position is most comfortable for you. We can always adjust if the pose isn’t right.”
Although, I rarely have to worry about reposing Marc.
He is a complete natural and I love photographing him. His energy is addictive, his smile engaging, and his body is drool-worthy.
I get lost in his gaze, taking more pictures of him than I did combined all day.
“Great! I believe we got it.” I give him a friendly smile as I walk over to the computer to start the next project- editing.
“That’s because you are the best.” Marc joins me at the computer and hums his approval as I scroll through the photos.
After viewing the last photo, I go back to one of the first ones. “This one is my favorite.”
“Mine too.” Marc says admiringly. “And it was one of the first ones. You are extremely talented.”
His voice is soft, caring, and husky with lust. I lean in towards him, our faces inching closer with each passing second.
Marc abruptly pulls away. “I should change.”
Letting out a sigh, I watch as he disappears behind the changing room door before returning my gaze to the computer screen.
That was a close call. I can’t let my feelings get in the way of my job, especially if I want to land a big designer.
The front door to the studio bangs open, causing me to let out a little yelp.
My breathing stops and fear courses through my veins as the figure standing in the doorway takes a step towards me.
My ex-husband.
Fear takes over my senses as I remember how mean he used to be and the scars that he caused.
This isn’t good.
There’s absolutely no reason for him to be here.
My voice comes out breathless and barely over a whisper. “What are you doing here? You aren’t supposed to come near me ever again.”
He sneers and rolls his eyes dramatically before saying, “Do you really think I am scared of a fucking piece of paper? Did you forget who my friends are?”
I am frozen like a deer in headlights, unable to move, think, or talk.
