Her face broke into a smile. She had never heard those words from a man before.

“I know you don’t want to rush into anything. I want us to take things slow.”

Her heart skipped a beat. She would be taking a risk at getting her heart broken. But she couldn’t live life in fear. Besides, Thomas was nothing like Chris.

She met his gaze. “I think I would like that.”

“I came over here to ask you out on a date for Friday night. I’d like to take you out to dinner and then dancing.”

“I haven’t been dancing in forever.”

“Then you’re well overdue.” He held out his hand. She put her hand in his. The warmth of his palm matched the warmth she saw in his eyes.

“Yeah I am.” She smiled and gently squeezed his hand.

She turned and stared out across the lake.

She once thought her life was falling apart.

But in reality it was falling into place.
