Story: Gash
“You’re in no position tohold something back—”
“The only time you were loud waswhen you were having sex with Rebecca. You didn’t talk aboutanything. The only reason I knew you were part of The Skulls wasbecause of your damn jacket. You didn’t talk about them.Thinkingabout it, you were always so careful about what you did, in fact, talk about. You couldn’t hide your leather cut.”She pointed at thejacket he was wearing.
Gash had been looking for hisbrother who he hadn’t seen in some time. He’d never found him, sohe assumed that he was dead. His real brothers were TheSkulls.Gashmade a mental note to talk to Tiny about it.Lash was the leader ofThe Skulls now, but Tiny was the leader back then and he’d been theone to give the orders.
“What’s your plan?”sheasked.
“You’re coming back to theclubhouse with me.It’s late right now, and I’m fucking tired.Tomorrow morning we’ll head to the clubhouse where we’re going tostart our search for those two fuckers.”He tilted his head to theside, and frowned when he heard a growling noise.“What the fuckwas that?”
He noticed Charlotte went an evendeeper shade of red.
“I’m hungry,” shesaid.
“What?”
“I’ve not eaten sincelunchtime.I’m starving, and I didn’t exactly plan to get attackedtonight, and to starve.”
“Anyone ever tell you thatyou’ve got a smart mouth?”
“It’s not the only thing you’vetold me.”
Gash frowned.“What else have I told you?”He couldn’t help but wonder what else she meant by her words.Therewas clearly something there that she wanted to tell him, yet shedidn’t elaborate.
Charlotte shrugged.“I guess that is foryou to find out.”She shook her head, blowing out a breath.“Idon’t want to fight, okay?I actually just want to have some food.Being attacked in my own apartment has left me cranky.”
He couldn’t argue with that.He wanted heroff balance and scared.Gash never claimed to be a nice guy.Yearsspent rotting in jail for a crime he didn’t commit had chased awayany kind of playfulness he possessed.Fighting for his life hadbeen his only companion, that and his need for revenge.Gash nowhad both within his grasp, but when he looked at Charlotte, thehatred wasn’t there.
“Do you know how to cook?”he asked.
“Who do you think kept you fedwhen you visited?”she asked.“Rebecca couldn’t cook to save herlife.I was the one that cooked for you, me.”She pointed to herchest, and beneath the pain, he saw the anger.Charlotte was angryat him.“It seems you make a habit of forgetting everything.”Shegot to her feet, placing her hands on the table, and glared at him.“I’m going to make some food. Are you going to kill me formoving?”
“Sarcasm makes me horny,Charlotte. You keep on with that smart mouth, and I’ll put it tobetter use.”
“Funny, I thought rape wasbeneath you,” she said.
“Believe me, babe, when I get youunderneath me, you wouldn’t be screaming rape. You’ll be begging mefor it.”She clenched her teeth, and he couldn’t resist getting tohis feet, invading her space.“Would you like me to show youexactly how good it can be?”
She glared at him for another fewseconds before storming past him, muttering under herbreath.
“What?”heasked.
“Nothing.I’m going to makemyself a chicken salad. You got a problem with that?”
“Do enough to feed me.”Sitting back, he flicked open his phone, and dialed Whizz’snumber.
“What the fuck do you want?”Whizz asked as way of answering.
“That’s no way to talk toyour friend.”
“You’re not at the club, andright now you’re not my friend.”Whizz didn’t agree with his needto go searching for Charlotte.“What kind of friend phones up lateat night while I’m screwing my woman?”
Okay, maybe it had nothing to do withCharlotte.
“Am I cock blockingyou?”
“No, you’re pissing me off.Whatdo you want?Lash has told me to take your calls no matter what.I’m simply obeying orders. What can I do to help?I’m just an allnight fucking service.”Whizz’s voice was filled withsarcasm.
Gash laughed.He likedWhizz.
