“So why are you stopping then?” she pants, her eyes blown with lust and her chest heaving.

Swallowing down the emotion clogging my throat, I tell her just a little bit of what’s currently swirling around in my head.

“I wish we could run away and just be the two of us. Forever.”

“Nikolas,” she says, cupping my face in her hand and giving me the cute, puppy-dog look that melts my heart every single time.

“Don’t, Angel. Don’t pretend like this is real,” I beg.

“But it is,” she argues. “I want this.”

A smile curls at my lips as I allow myself to believe for just a few seconds that it could be possible.

But then another shiver rips down her spine and I’m reminded of what we were doing in here in the first place. I drag her under the torrent of hot water falling from above.

“You need to warm up,” I say, running my hands over her sinful body while my lips find her neck, allowing myself to drown in thoughts of this lasting outside of this beach house.

It’s a pipe dream, one I know that is going to slip through my fingers the second we’re called to return back home.
