Story: Cameron
“It wasn’t just in exchange for your safety and your fucking dog’s life, was it? They’d have killed me if I chose not to be a pawn in their filthy game.”
A sudden blast of anger ran through me. How much she hated me and how far she was willing to go to get rid of me was palpable, but to make a deal with the Mafia against her own son—my boyfriend—that would threaten his own life? That was a new level of low that I couldn’t begin to fathom, even now when I’d become one with this shithole.
She shook her head rapidly, her eyes wide. “I’d have never let them hurt you. It was all fake just until you knew you belonged here and gave up on her. Cosimo had to pay for what he’d done, too. He was helping you leave. He betrayed me first.”
“The things I’m gonna do to that heart of yours before you take your last breath…” I murmured, picturing it already.
She spat in my face and swore.
My fist clenched, but Dusty blocked her out of my sight and grabbed her hair, pulling her neck back so far she whimpered. “You made that deal with the Lanzas in exchange for what?”
“Just working with the Esqueletos to lace the crack. It was one of many hits they’d already arranged. They wanted Cosimo out, and they’d pin all the deals that had been going wrong for them on him.” She cried. “But when they got rid of Cosimo, they stopped their protection. They sold me the fuck out. Without Rush or you, without the brothers I was as good as dead. I’m glad you found me. You’re my baby. You wouldn’t kill me, Dusty. I’m your mother. I love you. I love you so much.”
“You sent my father to rape my ol’lady. You betrayed me and the MC. You killed my unborn child.”
“I didn’t know she was pregnant. I’m so sorry, sweetheart. I did everything I could to give you the best life you can ever have. I’m so sorry.”
He pursed his lips, staring at her for long unreadable moments as she begged and blubbered. Would he forgive her? Did he still find it in his heart to spare that bitch?
I wouldn’t let it happen. He couldn’t do this to me.
I was about to open my mouth and protest, ready to kick him out of the Boiler if I had to. No one was going to stop me from having my revenge on the woman that destroyed my life.
He slapped his thighs and rose to his feet. “I’m sorry, too.”
“No, no! Dusty, please. I’m your mother! Don’t let her do this to me!”
“Who betrayed Cosimo, Beth? Was it Enzio? He went that far because he wanted the throne?” he asked, but who cared about the Lanzas?
She looked up at him, suddenly calm. “I’ll tell you, but you have to let me go. You need this info to know who you’re dealing with and who to trust.”
That bitch. Bargaining for her life until the very end. “We don’t give a shit. We’ll find out on our own. You’re not leaving the Boiler alive so save your breath for when I work on you.”
Realization hit her face. Horror stroke her eyes, and I smirked. “Dusty!Dusty!Don’t let her kill me! DUSTY! I’m your mother. You can’t do this to me.” She blubbered ugly at the end.
“A mother wouldn’t hold info about motherfuckers who could end up killing him to bargain with for her pathetic, cheating, backstabbing life. My mother wouldn’t kill my baby before it had a chance to live.”
The anger I felt out of my protectiveness of Dusty earlier turned into flames at the reminder of the life she took from me. Then came the stabs in my heart that would never stop. I closed my eyes, searching for that wall that was falling apart around my heart. Not tonight. Not until it was all done.
Dusty opened the door and nodded at Big Gun to come back in. Then Dusty marched my way. When he reached me, he didn’t look at me, but he said, “Make her scream. And enjoy it.”
The door slammed shut, the bang louder than it should have been. The pain in both my shoulder and calf was waking up, but it was nothing compared to the aches waking in my heart. It wasn’t going to stop me from finishing what I came here to do, though.
Nothing would.
I eyed the tools on the bench, and then glanced at the bitch. The agonized, fearful look in her eyes made the pain throbbing through me worth every second.
“I will, Prez.”
CHAPTER 42
Cameron
I went into the Boiler cold and numb, as I’d been for weeks. I came out with more blood on my hands and more cold darkness in my soul.
I had to smother the emotions that fought through the surface and threatened to ruin my plans. I did enjoy every scream, every blood drop, every plea, though. Torturing that miserable cunt made me horny as fuck. It beat me why I was surprised and not very pleased with my nature right now. Torturing Dusty at the bunker had the same effect. Maybe I’d convinced myself it made sense with him because he was a man and hot as sin. But I’d always known there was more to it.
Just like that day I’d discovered my kinky side in bed, today I discovered I was a true sadist, not just a dominant woman in the sheets.
