“Fuck, it’s Sebastian,” I said.

Finn rose slowly, groaning as the wards continued to snap at him, but his shape changed to the larger male the wolf favored. He shoved me behind him, not bothering to dress as he ripped the door open.

Seb stood on the porch with Liam behind him, his face immediately turning pink, and he put his back to us. “Holy fuck!”

“I’ll say,” I muttered.

Finn snorted. “Don’t suppose the two of you can hand the wards over to me so they’ll stop tickling me?”

“Is that what Wesley wants?” Seb asked, his back to us, gaze focused on his mate. He wrung his hands and stared at his mate.

“Yes, please,” I said.

“I do not need to know if Wesley is naked and gross, too,” Seb said.

Since Finn blocked my body from view, I hoped all they were rewarded with was the overwhelming smell of sex.

Liam put his hand to the side of the house, his other reaching for Seb, and the wards shifted, soothing from a raging miniature electric storm to a quiet fall day.

“Thank you,” Finn said. And like Liam and Seb’s gratitude, it held no magic. Maybe this new world really would be free of obligation.

Liam tugged Sebastian off the porch. “We expect to see you both at the bakery tomorrow.” The threat clear.

“Uh, we could use some time,” I said.

“Not negotiable,” Liam said. “The fact that the Autumn king walked through our territory without raising alarm is worrisome for everyone. Especially since no one knows where Winter is.”

“About that,” Finn said, “I sort of have her imprisoned in my realm.”

“What?” Seb stuttered a few words of protest I couldn’t really make out.

“The little Winter is safe, right? He visited from time to time when Wesley let me in through his dreams. But I wasn’t about to let her out to hurt him,” Finn said.

“He’s fine,” Liam said.

“Good. We’ll catch up with you tomorrow, sit down and go over things,” Finn said.

I groaned, was this going to be a war?

“Wesley knows to call if he needs something.”

“You’re still required to eat something,” Seb called as he got into the SUV and covered his eyes rather than looking up at his nakedapastanding in front of me in the doorway. “I’m glad you don’t look like I remember because this memory is going to be burned in my brain forever.”

“This isn’t his normal form either,” I called.

“I don’t want to know,” Seb grumbled.

Finn took a step back as the SUV turned around, making its way out of my yard. He closed the door and instantly returned tomyFinn. “I will always be your Finn.”

I sighed. “I still have to eat something. I vowed to serve their court…” Would he be mad.

“The box I brought is on the counter.” He pointed and I blinked at it, thinking it was strange that it had made its way inside. But a lump of white fur curled itself up in the cat tower near the far window. Had the baby Winter gotten an eyeful?

“Aw, there is little Winter. Good,” Finn said as he tugged me to the kitchen counter and opened the box to reveal a slice of cake, still perfect and smelling like divine sugar sweetness. “Let’s get you fed.”

“Food and a shower,” I agreed, feeling crusty.

“Then bed,” Finn said. “I promised to eat your ass and plan to make it good.”
