“Hmm. After you eat maybe?”

“I could eat you? In a sexy way, not the kitsune nom nom way.”

Liam smiled. “Food first. Wasn’t it you groaning about burgers a minute ago? I smell them. They are coming our way. You wouldn’t want to be doing the baby dance when someone comes in, right?”

“Baby dance… You’re weird. Fuck. Can’t a guy get some privacy?”

“You want me to leave?” Liam teased.

I gripped him tight. “No. I want you to fuck my brains out and coat my insides in come. Clear enough for you?”

Liam let out a long sigh like he was really working to hold back. “Food first. At least a bite. Then we can fuck. Then we have to deal with the vampires and the undead fae.”

I scowled. “I don’t wanna deal with vampires. We have lackeys now, can’t we set them on that task? What good is Wesley for, if not that?”

“I’m not sure I trust him. Or any fae really.”

“Anyone seen Robin?” He was a fae I thought I trusted, and I had questions for him.

“No. But I did make it clear to Wesley that Robin was part of our court. If he loses that privilege, time will tell.”

Would the fae be after Robin? Technically they had been after him since the day I’d met him. “What about Ari? Are the fae going to try to control them too?”

“Ari is fine,” Liam promised. “Even if they weren’t nestled in the safety of our pack, with your kitsune brother downstairs, his scion, the white stag of legends, and a half dozen other packs on high alert. Ari is safe, knows how to defend themself.”

Ari was a baby, and shouldn’t have to defend themself. Liam tugged sharper on my hair. “I need time with you,” he said. He sucked in a deep breath like he was a cat rolling the scent of me around his senses. “Fuck, you smell good.”

“You were stuck in Underhill.” As it had been collapsing around him. “How long were you there waiting for me to wake up?” Nick had said time worked differently there. My baby was several years old, but did they age as a human child, or something supernatural? Liam had aged. Werewolves didn’t age. Except maybe in Underhill, he had? Was that why there were gray hairs and more crinkles around his eyes? “Years? Decades? Centuries?” My heart ached at the idea of him being lost that long.

Liam shook his head. “You’re thinking too hard about other things and nothardenough about me.” He rolled over to press me into the bed, his body hot and ready against me, instantly turning my libido up to ten thousand percent.

“You said I had to eat first.” I growled at him. “I shouldn’t want you this bad.”

“Yeah?” He kissed me, lips diving down to capture mine, and tongue pressing into my mouth until all I could feel was him. Every sense of him was an endless ache of needing to roll in him, become one with my mate. “That’s the plan,” he agreed, pulling away from the kiss for a few seconds. He trailed kisses down my face and to my collarbone. “Let me see if I can distract you until food is done.”

I blinked at him, realizing how hungry I was. “A burger sounds amazing,” I admitted.

“Only a burger?” Liam asked as he kissed his way down my chest. My cock pointed up at him like an arrow with a “me next” sign pointing toward it.

“Um, this is good.”

“Only good?” Liam griped.

“On with the show, Ulrich.” I grabbed his hair and pushed him down, needing him in a thousand ways. “How soon before the baby is back?”

“Ari is fine.” Liam paused to glance at the door on which there was a knock two seconds later.

The smell of a hot hamburger hit me a second later and I groaned, nearly ready to jump out of bed, libido on second tier compared to the need for that food.

“Leave it outside the door please,” Liam called.

A moment later the footsteps retreated.

“Food first or fucking?” Liam gave me a smirk.

“Fuck… I mean I need food… but…” I growled, ready to race to the door and chomp down that burger before asking my mate to ravish me.

Liam lazily got up and went to the door, his fine ass retreating from the bed even as my cock ached and my stomach growled. It was the first time really seeing him since we’d got back, and gone were the boring black lines of the scion bond. In their place were elaborate colors and pictures, like he’d found a tattoo artist to create the most amazing art. I longed to run my hands over him and study them all.
