Clicking tongue (at someone)– like waggling a finger, clicking your tongue at someone is a warning not to do something.
Sucking teeth (at someone)– when a person suctions their tongue to the back of their front teeth and sucks, creating a clicking sort of sound.
Southerners learn this sound at a young age.
This sound means you are being judged for not doing or being in the perceived right of a situation, regardless of whether your stance is ethically or morally correct.
An example would be a preteen being told no, then sucking their teeth at their parent for ‘making the wrong choice.’ Sucking your teeth at an object usually means disgust and frustration.
Y'all– contraction of you all– everyone, even if those people aren’t in the room. Sometimes a singular person can be a y’all. It’s complicated, y’all, just trust me.
Y’all’s– contraction of you all’s.
Y’all’d– contraction of you all would.
