Aurora
Many Millennia Later...
I watched the sun setting on my front porch, Olan at my side. Even all of these years later, I loved him.
We had had so many children, who had in their turn had children, that we created a new classification of Magic User––Shadow Mages. These humans with Br?ndmand shadow magic had become some of the most powerful, well-respected members of the magical world.
I protected the preserve for three hundred years before finally letting Olan take me across the universe to other worlds. We ate, drank, loved, and experienced the best that life had to offer a god and his mate.
I had done everything there was to do with my husband except one last thing.
“My love,” I nuzzled into my favorite spot on his neck, “I think it is time. I am ready to sleep with you in the Void.”
His hands stroked my back as he considered. He knew better than to question, to ask me if I was sure. “I love you, and I would be honored to hold you for eternity. ”
He stood with me in his arms, our house already prepared for our descendants to take care of––Rocio kind enough to be our executor.
He walked us back to his well, his steps sure, his thoughts, like mine, without regret. I relaxed further in his arms, and he leapt.
It was warm in the Void, the soft light unexpected as Olan and I became incorporeal.
It was peaceful, and an overwhelming feeling of safety and joy flowed through my essence.
I could feel others there with us, children we had lost, family we dearly missed, and friends we had never forgotten.
I sighed as the gentle heat seeped into my being.
I nestled a bit further into Olan, our thoughts intertwining, our love overflowing, and we began to dream.
