I was troubled by this discovery too, but it really was the least of our worries. Marcie’s mysterious purpose didn’t even make the list.
“You don’t need to stay in hiding anymore.” Kellan’s parting words flooded us with relief. “I’ve kept your gang out of any reports, and I’ll do my best to submit your statements with no need for additional follow up. You will not be charged or implicated in any of Georgio’s activities. Live your lives. I’ll be in touch.”
The grumpy giant hung up without awaiting a response, and we stared at the phone in stunned silence. The dark clouds above us were breaking up, and good weather was finally on the horizon.
“Whelp,” Shane declared as he stood from his seat on the cushion beside me. “I don’t know about you, but I’m going into town. Who’s coming?”
“I’ll go.” Travis shot up from the couch.
“Me too.” Logan still glared at the phone like it had offended him, but stood all the same. “I need to pick up some better shampoo. And you”—he shoved Shane as he moved past him—“need some mouthwash.”
“Fuck you too, Pretty Boy.” Shane said cheerily. “Road trip! You guys staying here?”
I settled into my corner of the couch and hugged Winter tighter to my chest. Cam flopped onto his side and sprawled out on the opposite end.
“Yeah, we’ll stay here, man. Bring me back something nice.” I winked and blew him a kiss. Shane caught it in the air and grinned.
“You got it, baby.” He blew his own kiss at Winter and turned to leave.
“All right, fuckers!” he shouted out the door. “Who’s going to hold my purse?”
CHAPTER 30
WINTER
Two firm, masculine bodies boxed me into the middle of the bed; their soft snores ruffled my hair and every few minutes, one of them would let out a contented sigh and hold me tighter.
It would be a marvelous den of comfort if Shane and Travis weren’t so damnhot. I’d kicked off the covers, but it had only brought a brief reprieve.
We came upstairs to take a nap hours ago. The lightening sensation of pure relief had caused an adrenaline crash later in the day, and the two men laying beside me were the winners of whatever method they’d used—did anyone‘draw straws’ anymore?—to have the honor of napping with me.
We were going to need to get a bigger bed. And I was going to need an air-conditioner.
Slowly, I uncurled my limbs from each of their holds and awkwardly shimmied down the mattress, eager for a cool shower. A large hand clasped my elbow.
“Where do you think you’re going, Snow?”
Quick hauled me back up to his chest and kissed the shell of my ear.
“You guys are a jillion degrees,” I complained, pushing against him with little luck. “I need space. And a popsicle.”
Travis groaned at the sudden intrusion of movement and sound. “’S happening?” he mumbled, and he reached out, blindly wrapping an arm around my middle. “Where you goin’, boo’ful?”
He swiftly fell back to sleep, his child-like face in slumber glowing with serenity. The man was beyond adorable in this state.
“I’ll give you a popsicle.” Shane stroked his steel erection against my ass and kissed my exposed shoulder. His fingers caressed my arm in feather-light touches, and a shiver of desire unfurled in my belly.
“Mmmmm.” I murmured approval as his hand glided down my abdomen and stopped at the waistband of my shorts. “Tell me more.”
I loved this playful, sexual side of Quick. To think we could have shared this part of ourselves years before now. Though, if we had, I probably wouldn’t have found the rest of my men.
I didn’t believe in woulda-shoulda-coulda. We were here now, as we were always meant to be.
“Think you can be quiet, Snow? Think I can fuck your tight pussy from behind with Travis right beside you?”
My nipples hardened to stone at his dirty words.Fuck yes.
I pressed my ass harder against his cock and he took that for the permission it was. Tucking his hand inside my shorts, he slid his fingers through my wetness.
