Page 55 of Will & Patrick's Endless Honeymoon
Will shakes his head and grips Patrick’s arm, tugging him hard toward the building. “And, just like that, I’m tense again.”
“Your mother has that effect on people.”
“I wonder where my father is?”
“Let’s hope we don’t find out.”
Once the door to their room is shut and locked behind them, Will falls onto the sofa in a heap. “Order a bunch of food,” he says, eyes hooded with exhaustion. “I’m going to nap.”
Patrick checks the reading on Will’s monitor but doesn’t argue. It’s been a long, hot, sexy day, and he’s tired too. Once they’ve both had fatty food and a nap, the world will be a brighter place.
“Yes, I’d like to put in an order for three hamburgers, two orders of onion rings, and a side of wings. Of course I want ranch dressing for the wings. Who wouldn’t?” He carries on with their order, his eyes glued to Will’s slack face.
Even in sleep Will makes his heart do silly things. Patrick loves the sensation though he wonders at himself that he’s willing to risk feeling it for yet another creature. Once he’s willingly squandered more of his heart and life to whatever child comes to them, he’ll probably watch it sleep too. It’s one of those inexplicably weird things about love he’s grateful he’s had the chance to learn.
