Page 48 of When You Blush
He reaches around my front to press his fingers to my clit, and between that, his words, and hishuge, hard cock driving in and out of me, there’s no stopping the climax. I come so hard, black spots appear in my periphery, and I’m crying out his name.
“That’s it,” he croons, putting just a little pressure onmy throat, and I clench down even harder. “Fuck baby, yes.”
And then, he’s coming too, grinding into me over and over as he spills inside me until we’re both a heap of heaving, sweaty, messy people.
“Shower.” He pulls me off the bed, leading me on rubbery legs to the bathroom.
“Christ, we could have a party in here,” I mutter, making him grin.
But then, for the first time since I met him, a thought niggles its way into my brain.
Just how many women has Blake brought home?Has he alreadyhada party in here? He doesn’t do relationships, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t sleep with his share of women.
I let him do that to me without protection. Pregnancy is the least of my worries.
Blake starts the shower, and when he turns back to me, he frowns and immediately steps in front of me, his hands on my face.
“You’re overthinking something. Talk to me, sugar.”
“I think I’m being an annoying woman, and I should probably go home.”
“No.” His face goes hard, and his hands firm on my skin. “Talk to me. I don’t care if you’re being annoying. Tell me what I did to put that look on your face so I can fix it.”
“Uh, there is no fixing that.” I point at the bed and try to smile, to make us both laugh, but he’s not workingwith me and just waits for me to explain. “I made the stupid comment about having a party in here.”
He frowns. “Okay. It was funny. It’s a big fucking bathroom.”
“But maybe you’ve alreadyhada party in here.”
He blinks, then understanding moves through his eyes, and he shakes his head and sighs.
“See? Annoying. So you hop in the shower, and I’ll just?—”
He kisses me to shut me up, and I have to admit, it works. His hands move into my hair, holding me still so he can destroy my mouth.
“No parties in the bathroom,” he says against my lips. “No women in my bedroom. In myhouse, actually. I’m no saint, Harper. Before you, yeah, I was pretty good at casual sex because I had no intention of pursuing a relationship, and I enjoy sex. A lot, actually.”
“No harm in that.” And I mean it. Whatever he did before me is none of my business as long as he was safe.
“No. There isn’t.” He pushes my hair behind my ear, and his hands never leave me. His voice is calm and low. Almost soothing. The hot shower fills the room with steam, making it feel like we’re in a cocoon. “But I have no interest in anyone else and haven’t since the moment I first saw you step onto that plane. So while I was promiscuous in the past, I haven’t been in a while. I’ve been tested regularly, and I’m good to go. But no, this wasn’t a fuck pad. It’s myhome. It’s my safe place.”
“But you broughtmehere.”
He steps closer, if that’s even possible, and tips myface up so he can kiss me softly. His fingers on my chin almost scorch me, they feel so damn good.
“Yeah, I brought you here. Iwantyou here, Harper. For the first time in my life, medicine isn’t my only focus. It’s exhilarating and exciting, and I hope you’ll let me spend a lot of time with you. To get to know you, fuck you, enjoy you.”
I swallow hard at his words.
Blake wants to date me.
“I know that our schedules are tough,” he continues as if his words aren’t devastating. “But we can figure it out. There are no other women. I promise you that. Jesus, you’re all I think about, Harper. You’re all I see.”
And just like that, every tiny shred of doubt or jealousy is wiped away. Because how could any woman have a man say those words to her and still think that he’d fuck around on her?
Not me. And I was once with a man whodidfuck around on me. But he never said words like that. He never made me feel like I was worthy of every bit of his energy until nothing was left over for anyone else.
“I’m sorry.”
