Page 78 of Viktor
Her gaze dropped to his lips. The same lips that had been on her skin moments earlier. They were softer than they looked, gentler. He never rushed her or forced her to do anything she wasn’t ready for.
He could be her forever guy if she’d only let him.
Sara took a deep breath, the pressure so tight in her chest, she felt like screaming. There was only one way to ease it and she knew it.
“I’m going to trust you not to hurt me or my daughter, Viktor.”
His lips tilted, and those eyes of his began to burn. It started in the center of his pupil and expanded. The black of his irises deepened, and she saw them dilate with desire.
“Is that so?”
“I’m done getting in my own way.”
“So, what are you going to do now?” His voice turned husky, and it did something to that tightness choking her. It wound around it, and the pressure eased ever so slightly.
“I’mgoing to kissyou.”
And she did.
There were no fireworks.
There were no angels singing in the clouds.
The Earth didn’t stand still.
It was so much more than all of that combined.
The burn started in the pit of her stomach and spread like wildfire throughout every nerve in her body. Her pores bled heat from the raging fire inside her. One touch of his lips. That was all it took for her body to ask, “What the fuck you been doing denying us this?”
Sound ceased to exist. Her entire focus centered on this single kiss, and everything else dropped away. It was only the two of them and their lips dancing to a tune she never knew existed.
Her lips slanted over his, relishing how they seemed made for her. She sucked his lower lip into her mouth, her teeth teasing it.
The low moan that met her action spurred her on. She slipped her arms around his neck and buried her fingers in his hair. It was soft in comparison to the scruffy hair along his jaw.
“Easy,” he whispered. He was thinking of her back, and right now, that was the last thing on her mind.
She pressed against him, her lips reclaiming his, and urged his mouth to open for her. His hips thrust up, and her body flamed hotter. The way he’d sat her on his lap made sure she felt every hard inch of him.
“Slow down, baby. I don’t want to hurt you.” He pulled his lips away from hers, and she muttered something incoherent. Now was not the time to think about a few twinges of pain.
“Viktor, there’s nothing you can do to me that would hurt me.”
He grinned. “You won’t be saying that come morning, Sara Jane.”
“Maybe not, but it’ll be worth it.”
He searched her face. “You sure you want to do this, moye sokrovishche?”
“I’m sure.” She sat up and tugged her shirt off. Thank God her bra wasn’t one of her plain janes. She’d put on her lacy pink silk matching set this morning. Not because she had any ideas of seducing Viktor, but because they were comfy, and she loved the way they felt. The fact they looked gorgeous? An added bonus.
From the indrawn breath that escaped Viktor, he appreciated the bra too. It made her feel alive, sexy. He made her feel whole. Especially when his eyes burned a hot path over her flesh, leaving her shivering in their wake.
“I’m afraid to touch you,” he confessed.
“Why?”
“You’ve been hurt so much already, and I don’t mean just physically. Your heart is bruised. I wanted time to let it heal before I pushed you.”
