Cori

Last night, Vaughn fucked and sucked me within an inch of my life then opened up to me just enough to quench my curiosity.

So when I wake up alone, aching in all the right places, I can’t even be mad like I want to.

Especially when he has breakfast sent to the room and lets me know there’ll be an iDrive here at eleven to take me home.

Am I disappointed? Yes, but I never want to be the type of woman to trip about him being an active and responsible father.

Instead of letting the situation get the best of me, I take my time eating and take pictures of the city from the room’s balcony.

Then I gather all my belongings to leave, only to find Vaughn waiting outside where my iDrive is supposed to be.

He’s standing by the curb, leaning against his truck like something straight out of Sixteen Candles .

Even though I’m a grown-ass woman now, I can’t help but feel some type of way about the small gesture that had the girls going crazy while watching that movie for the first time.

“Jake Ryan, is that you?” I ask as I catch Vaughn distracted, staring off at something down the block before turning my way.

“Who the fuck is Jake Ryan?” he asks with a confused expression on his face.

“Just a character from a movie I was thinking about when I saw you standing here.”

It’s then that his face clears before that sexy smile of his makes a reappearance.

“I know you ain’t comparing me to that nigga from the eighties’ movie.”

“Oh, so you do know who he is,” I laugh, pleasantly surprised to know that the movie reference didn’t go over his head, but I’m curious to know when and where he watched it himself.

“Toya watched that shit too many times for me not to know.”

He shrugs, then moves to open my door, and I follow him, trying to reconcile the feeling I get every time he mentions her.

On one hand, it’s irrational for me to keep sizing myself up against a dead woman, while on the other, I appreciate knowing he’s comfortable enough to share that part of himself with me.

Because after last night, I want all the parts.

When we make it to my house, he doesn’t immediately get out to get my door.

He moves in for a kiss instead, and I pull back, putting a hand over my mouth in fake outrage.

“What’s the problem?” he asks, searching my face like he’ll find the answer there before I can respond.

“Do you kiss all of your women on the mouth the morning after, bad breath and all?”

I use the question as a roundabout way to gauge how many trips to The Drexel he’s made over the years.

“I don’t kiss any women except you,” he says, making my smile grow wide.

“What about that morning breath though?” I ask because it was a struggle to get myself together with just an assortment of complimentary toiletries at the hotel.

“Did you see all that complimentary shit in the room?” he asks, giving me a questioning look, and I nod. “Did you use them motherfuckers?”

“Yes.”

“Okay, then.” He pecks me on the lips, smiling that he’s not denied this time. “I see you like playing with a nigga, CC.” he says, sparking a whole new question for me.

“Where did you get CC from?” I ask, pulling back again, and he smiles.

“Been calling you Cameragirl Cori in my head sometimes. I had to shorten that shit up.”

“I guess it could be worse,” I mumble, thinking about my government name that he’s bound to find out about the longer we are together.

“Worse like what?”

“Like Icoris.”

“The Greek nigga with the wax wings?” he asks while flexing his knowledge and I smile.

“No, the camera girl with the C-O-R-I between the I and the S. Same pronunciation, different spelling.”

It takes a second, but when he puts it all together, he laughs longer than he should.

“Yeah, that’s pretty bad, Icoris,” he murmurs before finally getting the type of kiss he’s been waiting for all morning. When we move past the pecks to open-mouthed kisses, I finally let him have it for fear of having to discuss my given name further.

His soft lips and strong tongue devour mine until I reluctantly pull away… again.

“Thank you for last night, and thank you for breakfast,” I say before giving him one quick closed mouth kiss on the lips.

“No thanks needed. You fed me all night, so breakfast was the least I could do.”

I should be embarrassed about the amount of feeding that went down last night, but instead I’m ready to do it again, right here in this truck.

The only things that stop me are the day old clothes I have on and Vaughn finally getting out to respectfully walk me to my door.

He leaves with a kiss and a promise to call me later, only to show up at my door before the end of the night.
