The idea was just crazy enough to work, but it was equally crazy enough to fail spectacularly. It was perhaps even more outlandish than running away to outer space, and that had been ridiculous, though very inspiring and beautiful, and an experience he would recommend to anyone with tens of millions of dollars to burn for very little return.
Will’s plan was simpler. Bolder. And more traditional. Maddox would have very little hand in it. It had to be executed by humans and his boy. The sickness meant everything took longer, and the lack of communication meant Maddox was as surprised as anybody else when William came striding through his front door at two o’clock on a Tuesday afternoon. He was holding a document in his fisted hand, a piece of paper that might finally end the ongoing battle between Gideon and him.
“Wolf pup, have you brought yourself as a sacrifice?”
Gideon met him in the foyer. Maddox was not far behind. Nor was Raymond. Or Chauvelin. Will was confronted with a terribly dangerous crowd of vampires, any one of whom could have killed him, yet his audacity meant they did not do so right away. They intended to toy with him first. That was their mistake.
“Hi guys,” Will said. “And, uh, bye, guys.”
“What is he talking about?” Gideon directed the question to Raymond.
“I got Maddox to put the house in my name,” Will said, waving the paper in their faces. “And I want you, vampire, out of my fucking house. I revoke your entry permission. Begone, Gideon.”
Maddox had been concerned that this plan would fail as the others had. But then it did work. The front door was flung open by an unseen hand, and Gideon was vacuumed out of the house. He tried to be elegant about it, but it was almost impossible to be dignified while being physically sucked out of a house. He ended up folding his arms over his chest.
“I also revoke anybody who isn’t Maddox or Lorien. Get the fuck out of here, Chauvelin. You too, blond guy. Fuck all the way off.”
Schwoop.
Schwoop.
Just like that, the invading vampires were sucked out of the home, one after the other, like gravity had changed direction specifically for them.
“Wow,” Will grinned. “Didn’t think that would actually work.”
The door slammed shut behind the banished vampires, reality reasserting itself with a bang.
Maddox embraced Will so tightly Will thought he might burst. It felt so fucking good to be back in his master’s arms. He knew he smelled like dirt and meat, but Mad didn’t seem to care. Maddox smelled like Maddox always did. Like power and lust and control.
“You do realize you just trapped yourself in this house,” Maddox murmured in his ear.
“Yes. With you. Hope you got me toaster pastries because I’m fucking starving.”
“I think there may still be a box or two in the kitchen,” Maddox said, smiling broadly.
“I love you,” Will said. “But I am also hungry.”
“Would you like me to cook for you? It has been a long time since I was able to prepare you a meal.”
“You can open the box and put the pastry in the toaster if you want. Actually. No. I want to do it. I need to do it. I’ve fucking missed real food.”
“I don’t think toaster pastry is real food,” Maddox mused. Will was not paying any attention to his thoughts on food. Will had been yearning for this experience almost as much as he had yearned for Mad. Maybe more.
Making toaster pastries in Maddox’s kitchen was one of the defining experiences of home for Will. He knew he wouldn’t really feel like he was back until the smell of pastry filled his nostrils and the contents of the box filled his belly.
It was difficult to concentrate with Maddox’s arms wrapped around him from behind, holding him with every step he took. Their carnal hunger would be sated when Will’s primary desire was.
The sound the toaster made as it rocketed the pastries up was the sweetest sound on Earth. Will grabbed the piping hot pastry, tossed it on the counter and drizzled sweet ooze across it, before shoving it directly into his gaping maw.
He bit. He chewed. He swallowed. And then he put the rest of the pastry down.
“Ugh,” he said. “These are so overly sweet. Did you get different ones?”
“Your tastes may have changed from eating wild for so long,” Maddox said. “Though I can assure you, mine have not. Come to bed with me, boy. Now.”
Maddox’s kiss was passionate and rough. Will’s answer was no less intense. The two of them had missed one another so badly that it more than hurt. It burned them to their cores. Tasting Maddox was like tasting salvation.
Maddox ripped his clothes from him, perched him up on the kitchen counter, spread him wide and grabbed the oil. Their grunts and kisses filled the air, their cocks hard and yearning, throbbing with intense need.
