THE UNSEEN

F ury, white-hot and potent, consumes me. I pilot the drone into a nearby tree, receiving very little satisfaction when it shatters, knowing I let Tessa down. I wasn’t able to save her.

I failed. I failed both Tessa and my Father.

As I throw my leg over my bike, I replay her mad dash through the woods, running for her life with that giant motherfucker chasing her down. Her screams ring in my ears, blocking out the purr of my bike as I roar down the street.

I’m going to kill those bastards. Slowly. Painfully. And I’m going to revel in their screams.
