She struggled a little against me until I speared my fingers into her hair, gripping tightly and pulling her head back slightly, just the way I liked it. Kissing her like a man on the edge of losing everything, pouring every bit of hunger, obsession, and need into that brutal kiss.

I felt the shift — the moment her mind finally went blank.

There you go, Darlin’.

I pulled back just enough to smirk, voice rough but teasing, “You think you’re too old for this? Nah, I don’t give a fuck about three years. You’re it.”

Then I dove right back into my salvation.

As I ground my hips into her, letting her feel what she was doing to me, she parted her lips in a silent gasp, giving me the opening I needed. Moaning, I plunged my tongue into her delicious little mouth, tasting her.

Her nails dug into my stomach, my shirt clenched in her fists. My balls tightened at that little bite of pain, and I tilted her head back even further, devouring her mouth like a man possessed. My body was alive, buzzing with my need for her.

I was so lost in the feeling of her, in the high of feeding my obsession, that I missed the moment when her mind began to function again.

One second I was tasting her, sweeping my tongue over hers. The next, there was a loud slap, followed by a sting in my cheek, as she wrenched herself away from me.

“Fucking asshole,” she spat.

I pushed my tongue into my cheek before a slow, wicked smile spread across my face.

Was it wrong that I was kind of turned on by this? Probably .

But my dick didn’t give a flying fuck about wrong or right. Should’ve worn jeans today because these athletic shorts didn’t do anything to hide my raging hard-on.

“Eh, I usually prefer to label it as ‘going after what I want.’ I mean, you’re definitely not wrong, but I promise, you’ll get used to it.” I shrugged.

Sierra scoffed. “ This ,” she then pointed back and forth between us, “will not happen again. Do you understand me?”

I grinned. “I’m sure you think it won’t happen again.”

“No. I know , it won’t happen again.” She flicked her hair over her shoulder.

Raising my eyebrows, I stared right into her blazing eyes. “Whatever you say, Darlin’.”

I knew I was being a condescending prick, but it was just so much fun to get her all riled up.

This time, she closed the distance between us, jabbing her finger into my chest as she glowered up at me. “Who the fuck do you think you are?”

“Hmm. Let’s see…” I counted on my fingers as I spoke, “Your roommate’s little brother, the next — and best — defensive end on this school’s team, and … there was something else … oh, yeah!” I tapped my forehead with one finger, as if I just remembered. “Your next boyfriend.”

Her mouth dropped open, complete and utter disbelief written all over her face.

“Careful, Darlin’, you don’t want me to get any ideas,” I drawled, my eyes flicking down to the steel pipe in my shorts and back up to her mouth.

A blush rose to her cheeks as she followed my gaze, then she tore her eyes away and snapped her mouth shut again, her jaw clenching.

“You’re delusional.”

She was trying to gain the upper hand again, trying to put on an icy facade, but I was enjoying myself too much to let her take an easy out. I wanted her fire, her venom; I wanted it all — the good and the bad.

I’d collect every piece of her, down to her very soul, strip her armor, layer by layer . Why should she be allowed to keep it? She wouldn’t need it. I’d be her fucking armor. I’d protect her, cherish her, keep her safe.

I chuckled, letting her see the wicked grin curling my lips. “Yeah? Am I?”

Before she could answer, could spew more lies out of her pretty mouth, my hand closed around her throat. It fit perfectly, as if it had always been meant to be there. I admired the contrast of my ink against her smooth, creamy skin.

Magnificent .

“See, I don’t think I’m delusional. At all. Wanna know why?”

Sierra was panting, looking up at me wide-eyed, lips parted, but made no move to slip out of my grasp.

I pressed down on the side of her neck with just my thumb and forefinger, holding her gaze steady. As her body relaxed slightly in my grip, I lowered my face to hers, our noses almost touching.

“ This is why. Because of that look on your face right now. Fuck, Darlin’, you should see yourself. Pupils all blown, your cheeks flushed — and I bet your pretty little pussy is weeping for me.”

Her breath caught, and I planted a quick kiss on her lips. “Yeah, you like being submissive to me. I can taste it in the fucking air.”

Her eyes narrowed, and she broke free of my grip, taking a couple of steps back. Well, guess it had been too early for that . She’d get there — eventually.

Unconcerned, I gave her some space and leaned against the counter again, smirking.

She took a deep breath, then opened her pretty lips again. “You are—”

But I didn’t get to find out what I was because just then, Ella and her friend Hailey pushed through the door, arms laden with some of her stuff. Hailey looked at me curiously, while Ella’s suspicious eyes darted back and forth between Sierra and me.

If looks could kill, I’d definitely drop dead right now, with the way Sierra was glaring at me.

“Sierra!” My sister called cheerfully. “I see you’ve met my brother.”

“Yes, indeed,” Sierra replied stiffly, and I pursed my lips to keep myself from bursting out laughing.

“Oh yes, Sierra and I are well acquainted, aren’t we?” I grinned, playing innocent.

Sierra huffed disdainfully before flicking her hair over her shoulder. She didn’t acknowledge my words, but that was fine. I knew I was in her head.

“Okay?” Ella sounded a little confused, then looked at me. “Hey, Dom, why don’t you go downstairs and put all those muscles you’re lugging around to good use?”

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught Sierra’s eyes roaming over the muscles in question. She was quick, her gaze flicking up again in a flash, but I couldn’t imagine ever not noticing when her eyes were on me.

“Sure,” I drawled, then strolled casually toward the door as they moved to unload the stuff in Ella’s room.

Just as I was about to step through the door, I almost collided with a body even bulkier than mine.

“Oh, sorry, dude,” a deep voice rumbled.

I held my hands up apologetically and met the emotionless stare of Colt Michaels. This was fucking crazy. I’d been following Colt’s career for years now, and while I knew my sister had met him, I hadn’t expected to run into him.

“No problem. Hey, congrats on the draft!” God, I sounded way too excited, but I couldn’t help it, I fucking idolized the guy.

“Thanks! Cool tattoos. Are you Ella’s brother?”

“Yup. What gave it away?” I joked, trying to play it cool.

“Might’ve been the hair, dude.” We both chuckled, his expressionless mask lifting for the first time. “Oh, wait, that means you’re going to be my replacement, huh? You’ll love it, don’t worry. The guys are great.”

“Sure am. Definitely, I usually get along just fine wherever I go.”

Sierra snorted in her corner and then disappeared into her room without a word. Tucking my tongue into my cheek to keep from smiling, I stared after her and shrugged at Colt, who shot me a puzzled look.

It was only when he disappeared into the apartment that a grin finally spread across my face. My hand closed around the spare key Ella had given me in my pocket with a deep-seated satisfaction.

She could try to run, but she wouldn’t get very far.
