Chapter Twenty-One

Jared

“Honestly, man, thank you for picking them up,” Troy says, and I can hear the tension in his voice through the phone.

“Don’t mention it,” I reply. “Good luck at the game. Just focus.”

“I will. Just…it’s been a long few weeks. I’m glad to be back.”

“Yeah, I bet. Just try not to screw this up,” I chuckle, hanging up.

I take a deep breath and approach her place, my heart racing. It’s been too damn long since I’ve seen Savannah. I knock on the door, the sound echoing in the stillness.

When she opens the door, my breath catches. She’s in Troy’s jersey, that little miniskirt, and sneakers. The baby’s in her arms.

“Hey,” I manage, my voice low. “You look gorgeous.”

“Jared! Wow, I haven’t seen you in a while,” she beams, and I feel the warmth in her smile.

“Yeah, I was handling some things for the team. Had to travel a bit, but I got back this morning.” I take a step inside, my eyes glued to her. “You ready?”

“Yeah, I’m ready,” she nods, and I walk over, my heart pounding. As I lean in to kiss her, she stops me.

“Wait. Just so you know, I’m kind of sleeping with Troy...and I’ve slept with Jamie too.”

Wow. I laugh, trying to process it. “Damn, a lot’s changed since I left.”

“Yeah,” she says, a hint of mischief in her eyes. “But if that doesn’t bother you, you can still kiss me.”

“Oh, really?” I raise an eyebrow, intrigued. I take the baby carrier and set it on the counter, my heart racing. “I wanna do more than kiss you.”

Before she can respond, I take the baby out of her arms and place him in the baby carrier. I close the distance, capturing her lips with mine.

God, she tastes incredible. I pull her closer, feeling the heat radiating from her body.

“I’ve been dreaming about this,” I murmur against her lips, and she moans softly, sending shivers down my spine.

I crowd her against the fridge, my thigh pressing between her legs. “Why’re you so wet for me, huh?” I ask, slipping my hand beneath her skirt, feeling her warmth. “You have two men and your cunt still weeps for me, huh?”

“Jared…” she whimpers, her breath hitching.

“Hey, baby.” My fingers find her, and she gasps, arching into me. “You like this?”

“Yeah, I do,” she admits, her cheeks flushed.

I move my fingers, working her just right, watching her eyes flutter shut. “That’s it. Just let go,” I whisper, and she does, her body quaking against mine.

“Jared!” she cries out, her voice breaking as she rides the waves of pleasure. I feel her pulse racing beneath my fingers, and it’s intoxicating.

After she calms down, I lean in, brushing my lips against her neck. “Ready for the game?”

She’s all red and flustered, looking up at me with that gorgeous face. I can’t help but chuckle.

“Yeah, I think so,” she replies, still a bit breathless. She watches me as I suck her off my fingers before cleaning the remainder with my pocket square. Then I adjust her white lace panties to cover her pussy once again.

I love how she just stands there and lets me.

“Good.” I pick up the baby carrier, shifting the weight of it in my arms as I lead her outside.

“Hey, you better keep those lips warm for me after the game,” I tease, glancing down at her.

She rolls her eyes playfully, but there’s that spark in her smile that makes my heart race. “I plan to, trust me.”

“Good.” I grin as we head out into the morning sun, my chest feeling lighter, excitement thrumming through me.

As we walk, I can’t shake the feeling that this is just the beginning.

I’m not sure how to feel about the whole Troy-Jamie situation, but I just got back to Chicago. I will have to figure that out after this game.

As we walk toward the rink, the energy in the air crackles. “So, who’re we playing tonight?” Savannah asks, glancing around, her excitement contagious.

“Georgia Cougars,” I reply, smirking at the ridiculous mascot name. “They’ve got a decent lineup, but we should be able to take ‘em down.”

“Hope so! You gonna leave me with Millie and Jade?” She raises an eyebrow, playful mischief in her eyes.

“Yeah. I’ve gotta meet with the coach first. You’ll be okay with them, right?”

“Please, I’m friends with Millie. I’ll be fine.” She waves her hand like it’s no big deal, but I’m still worried.

“All right, just text me if you need anything.”

I lead her to the private box, feeling a surge of pride at the idea of showing her off to my team.

As we reach the booth, Millie’s already there with Kieran, laughing over something on her phone. “Hey!” she beams, looking up as we walk in.

“Savannah!” Millie rushes over, wrapping her arms around her. “I heard all about Noah from Declan!”

“Really? I’m surprised he knew,” Savannah says, surprised. “I thought he was keeping this a secret from the team.”

“Yeah, Declan heard it from Axel, who got it from Troy. You know how it goes,” Millie laughs, glancing at Kieran. “Can I see the baby?”

“Of course!” I pass the carrier to Millie, and her face lights up.

“Oh my God, such a beautiful baby!” she coos, bending over to peek in. “Look at those tiny fingers!”

Savannah beams, her smile wide and bright. “Thanks! He’s been a handful, but I love him.”

“Where’s Jade?” I ask, looking around the booth for my sister.

Just then, a voice calls out from the entrance, cursing under her breath. “Damn stroller! Why are you so heavy?”

We all turn to see Jade, her bobbed dark hair bouncing as she wrestles with a stroller.

“Hey, I’m Jade,” she says, finally getting the stroller inside. “Sorry I’m late!”

Savannah introduces herself, and I can see the wheels turning in her head, trying to figure out this new crew.

“All right, since everyone’s met, I’m leaving,” I say, looking at Savannah. “Don’t let them bully you while I’m gone.”

“Me? Never!” Millie laughs, hands up in mock innocence.

I lean down, giving Savannah a quick kiss on her forehead. “See you after the game.” I give her a wink before heading out, leaving the girls to chat.

As soon as I’m gone, I can only imagine the whirlwind of questions they’ll be throwing at her.
