“What vision?” Billy asked, sidling up beside Ellea to wrap her arm around her waist and kiss her temple.
“We’ll talk when Sam and Devon get down here.”
“This couldn’t have waited?” Garm asked, annoyed.
“No.”
Ellea wondered if Ros had also interrupted something between Garm and Billy. She began to feel really sorry for getting in the way of her friends’ fun. Not only had their worlds been turned sideways by her parents, they’d gone to Hel for her. And now she was interrupting one of their few free nights.
“Next time, I’m going to call an emergency meeting while you and E are going at it like beasts,” Devon grumbled, coming into the kitchen. He gave Ellea an angry peck on the cheek before heading to the fridge.
“Agreed,” Sam said, coming in to lean against the wall, glaring at Ros.
“Okay, let’s make this quick so we can all get back to what we were doing.” Ellea gave Ros a stern look. “I had a dream that may have been a vision.”
“It was a vision,” Ros added.
“Were you there?” Ellea cocked a brow at the brute.
“We need to contact the other wolven before they head out.” Ros ignored her look and question, turning into his commanding self. “Ellea saw two vampires in her vision. They’re waiting to attack until the western pack is too far to be called back. I’m guessing we cannot avoid an attack, but we can rally our numbers to give us the best chances. I want to set up a decoy so that the vampires still think the pack has left us. We’ll have to create a protected place for them to stay or illusion their current whereabouts until it’s time to fight.”
“I’ll call Williams now.” Sam stood taller, and his alpha look replaced the whiny frustration Ros had caused. “Have him meet us here in the morning. We can solidify our plans then.”
“Do we get the council involved?” Ellea asked.
“No, I don’t want Vlad getting a jump on us.”
“I want to call Duhne and Florence back,” Ellea added. “We could use their strengths and powers.”
“Agreed. Garm, Billy, interested in a trip to Hel?”
“Now that we can go there the easy way, yes,” Billy said. “We can go sleep there tonight and be back by mid-morning, maybe noon.”
“Anything else? Okay, good.” Ellea was quick with her words, not giving Commander Ros time to add more tasks. “I’ll see you all in the morning, how about nine?”
“Dawn,” Ros growled.
Ellea widened her stance and crossed her arms. With her chin high, she stated, “Nine o’clock.” He pressed his lips together, and she added, “Ros will buy us coffees and muffins.”
He went to retort, but Ellea kept her glare, and he backed down.
“Get some rest,” he said, holding his hand out for Ellea.
“And?” Ellea asked, staying put.
“Sorry for the intrusion,” he grumbled.
Devon tried to hide his smirk behind his glass of OJ, and Sam openly chuckled.
“Playing bottom, Ros?” Sam asked with a wicked grin.
Billy laughed too, then gave Ellea a big hug before stepping into Garm so they could portal to Hel.
“We will phone next time,” Ellea said, walking toward her grumpy demon.
“They were too busy to answer,” Ros added.
“Who’s the seer in this relationship?”
