Grace

TO SAY I WAS SURPRISED when Trex kissed my hand would be an understatement. Hell, if I’d been wearing panties, they would have melted. And what about that sizzling jolt of energy I felt when he touched me? What was that about?

Trex’s invitation to tour the ship caught me off guard, but I tried to conceal my excitement and disregard the curious glances from the other women.

There was an awkwardness at first and I got the feeling he wasn’t sure what to say to me.

The problem was I was tongue tied too. Not to mention feeling more insecure than ever.

Walking next to Trex, my mind was a whirlwind of flustered, aroused, and confused thoughts.

A delicious, spicy fragrance filled with sunshine wafted from Trex as he walked beside me. His irresistible scent enveloped me, and my desire for him amped up.

Agreeing to go with him was spur of the moment. But I’d already decided to ask if I could stay on the ship for now.

I know what the other’s might think, but I kept telling myself the reason I wanted to stay on the ship wasn’t because I wanted to be near Trex. We’re strangers, yet it doesn’t feel that way.

I’ve heard people talk about love at first sight, but this was more than that. It felt more like I’d always known Trex.

There was a familiarity there I’ve not experienced before. Granted, I have been lonely and could be imagining the connection with him.

We were walking down the corridor when my stomach rumbled. I placed a hand against it.

My cheeks burned with embarrassment. “Oops. I’m sorry. I can’t remember the last time I ate.”

The truth was with everything that had occurred in the last god knew how many hours I’d ignored my need for food.

Now that I felt relaxed and things had settled down, I was suddenly starving. For food, of course.

I sighed and let my eyes flit to Trex’s handsome profile.

Yeah, right. Just hungry for food, my ass.
