Hands, strong and rough curled around her waist and for a second she thought about pushing those hands away, to detangle their bodies and put space between them.
It was all too much.
“I knew you had sweet in you.” His smirk could be heard.
She had gotten sweet that last round, hadn’t she? Stroking his damn ego with how she told him she loved what he was doing to her.
What the hell. She went all in. Nathan had taken the first step, hadn’t he, by declaring himselfhers.
This man belonged to her. “I think you ruined me for other men.” Emotion leaked like a broken carton of milk. It poured through her shaking limbs, gathered in her belly and broke free.
“No other men.” He warned growling giving her starved kisses all along the curve of her throat. The sight of such a rugged giant of a man quaking imprinted itself on her brain.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Her heart tripped over its own feet. It could have been the cock nestled inside her soft and pulsing. Or it could have been how tenderly he brought a cloth back to bed and cleaned her between her thighs and then kissed where he dried.
She fell in love.
With two hundred fifty pounds of hard intense muscle pressing her into the bed the emotions this colossal tiger evoked in her was girlie and new.
New and overwhelming.
And a little freaking scary.
CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
“Shit. It’s like being on the set of a Sparks movie around here lately.” – Snake
September was waning and taking the worst of the summer heat with it, thank god. Days drifted into one week and then two. Luxe woke languidly, rolling across the bed to find it empty. She was alone amid a mass of messy sheets that had been tumbled all over last night in their haste to get hands on each other and the scent of sex in the cooler air-conditioned room.
Doing what every woman on the planet did when they first woke; she grabbed her phone and scrolled through missed calls and texts, social media told her there was no imminent world disasters so she went about replying to a select few people. Mimi came first, she was never ignored or she’d feel her Mexican wrath. Then there were directives from Jamie. She’d been scheduled to go to Utah later today to liberate a Porsche from its unsuspecting car dealership owner, but now it looked like he wanted it postponed until the weekend, something to do with his chopping guy busy with his wife giving birth.
Taking care of personal stuff in the bathroom, she washed her hands and face, brushed and gargled mouthwash and slipped one of Nathan’s oversized shirts on. Of course, on him the thing was skin tight, she was fucking a behemoth man.
Thighs twinging reminded Luxe just what kind of night she’d shared with the biker. Fluffing her hair into a kind of presentable mess she left it running down her back and walked through the condo, following the scents and sounds of the early morning. Something smelled good, her belly groaning, since she’d had Nathan in her mouth all night, it was time for some proper nutrition.
Was this domestic bliss really her? Her clothes were all over his place. Her favorite jean jacket on the couch, boots by the door, her beauty things on the counter in the bathroom and she knew exactly where her discarded underwear was.
She was in a relationship.Soin a monogamous relationship with the man she could hear opening cabinets in the kitchen.
This was what she’d always thought, wasn’t it?
She couldn’t want a gentleman without craving a savage alongside it. Someone to respect her and what she does, who wouldn’t object to her light-fingered career choice and who would fuck her senseless in the dirtiest possible way at the end of the night and then take care of her afterward. It seemed impossible on paper, but standing in the doorway of Nathan’s modest condo, his back turned while he fried her tofurky he complained was the vilest tasting shit ever, she cast back to that long ago thought she’d had of the impossible, ideal man, the one she scoffed at for not existing.
There he is.Her body whispered.
No,there he is,her heart interjected.
He was real. That take-charge man who got shit done, who stood back and let her deal with her own business and then treated her body like a queen he adored was right there for the taking. In his tight-fitting boxer briefs and bare feet, every inch of tanned skin on show, ink down one side begging for her tongue to slide over it again and his dark brown hair messy in tufts from bed and her fingers.
There he was.
Yeah.Dios. This was what she wanted. Early morning cooking and enjoying. Doing things that had nothing to do with stealing or planning a heist or running from the law or hocking stolen goods.
This right here, standing quietly in the doorway staring a hole into his toned back was right where she wanted to be. It felt right.
Nathan was everything that encompassed on her impeccably-created man. Ironically, he’d become her one solid force, her one stability in a world filled with crime and uncertainty, and she sodesperately needed that without realizing it until he was in front of her.
