Page 100 of Tracking Luxe
“Fine. And you?”
“Oh, you know.” He smirked flashing her a peek of his teeth. Teeth that had bitten all along the back of her neck, scraped the length of her spine and nibbled the inside of her thighs until she begged him to eat her already.
“Why didn’t you call me?” she blurted and instantly regretted it. Days’ worth of silence she’d hated.
“Did you want me to?”
Men. Dummies.
It had been a long drive with a lot of time to think and Luxe knew this; seducing Nathan was easy, having his body, using it for her pleasure was not the issue since they both enjoyed sex with each other.
What she hadn’t done, and now regretted as she watched him watch her was never having a truewhat do we want from each otherconversation.
She knew a lot about him. What he liked to eat and drink. Who his football team was (she approved) he’d shared stories of his childhood, stories of his most colorful tracking tails, but that fundamental issue of a relationship, she’d skirted around it.
She wanted his bodyandhis attention.
“Sí.”She informed in a clear precise voice that didn’t waver or convey nerves.
He nodded, smiled a little. “Then I’ll call you often as you want. Okay?”
“Sí.”With her mind playing silly games with nervous apprehension seeing him for the first time in as many weeks. X-rated scene after X-rated scene of their last time together playing inside her head, she couldn’t function beyond what her system instinctively did to keep her alive. Fear, desire, lust, anticipation of the unknown.
Nathan was an unknown box to check.
A thought fought through the traffic as he leaned in to skim lips down her cheek. God. She really did love his touch, his beard tickled and his breath always smelled sweet, the leather of his cut creaked with his movements.
Has he been touching many others in her absence? Again, not her business, but there was no room for a logical, sensible thought when she wanted to know.
His mouth moved to kiss her and she tipped her head back, looked him full in the eye. Ice replaced the blood moving through her veins. “Have you slept with anyone else since me?”
Well that didn’t leave breathing room for misinterpretation, did it?
Nathan laughed lightly and rubbed his beard. “I think I like this side of you, Luxe. I mean it shouldn’t only be me, right? Fuck, yeah, I like it a lot. Like you being an attack dog over me.”
Across the bar someone was getting rowdy, a great cheer went up and people clapped and hooted, when she turned to look and saw it was a bunch of guys watching a game up on the TVs she returned to her seat and found Nathan’s face right there.
Like right in her face so her lips almost skimmed his whiskers.
“I should be pissed that’s the first thing you ask me, but since you went all jealous Glenn Close on that chick I’ll keep that in check. Do you think I’ve had another mouth around my cock after your pink lips sucked me dry? Do you think I want in another body now I know what it feels like to drill inside tight perfection?”
Oh.
My.
Dios.
She’d expected a flippant answer.None of your business who I fuck, Luxe.Nah, been working, why, you wanna fuck me, Luxe?
Nothing prepared her for his candid reply. Nothing. Her blood went from normal to absolute volcanic eruption. A nervous laugh escaped her and tension wilted her shoulders so she sagged back in her seat, Nathan went with her, keeping his face in touching distance, the spark of his gray eyes so attractive masked by long dark lashes. No one had ever been so honest with her.
It was a curse, as Mimi would say, to be this insecure about something as simple as being liked, when you wore an armor of fuck you.
She let herself touch him then, by threading her fingers in the back of his hair, using the tight momentum to draw him nearer so mouths could collide. “Can we get out of here?” when he only slit his gorgeous eyes. “Por favor, Nathan.”
“Goddamn you, is this my bi-monthly booty call, Luxe?” his jaw was tight, but his eyes were hot, so hot she was almost singed by the heat blazing out of them. When a second ago his voice was smooth flirting it was now granite coming out of thinned out lips.
Luxe frowned. She was not good at this.
