I stood up, brushing off my dress and sliding one of the straps back up onto my shoulder. There was longing in the way he looked at the exposed skin. It wouldn’t take much more convincing for him to abandon his worries and indulge with me.

All I had to do was be so much of a brat, he had to punish me immediately.

And I knew exactly how to do it.

He reached out to lead me away from the pool, but I didn’t give him a chance.

“Come on, let’s—AH!”

With one hard shove, my grumpy, protective alpha was making a giant splash and taking an unexpected swim in the pool.

Twenty-Five

WEST

I came up gasping for air to find her doubled over beside the pool, laughing her ass off.

She wanted me to fuck her that badly?

So be it.

She’d get her punishment before she got a hint of pleasure from me, though.

Talia was stunning; the way that red dress clung to her curves had been taunting me all night. I’d planned to peel it off her immediately upon returning. Now that I’d gotten a taste of my omega, I didn’t want to stop touching her for a goddamn second.

I’d had self control. I was trying to keep her safe, to make sure that we were somewhere comfortable for her. Not beside some random pool while breaking and entering.

All my self control was gone now, and it seemed she wanted it that way.

I rubbed a hand down my face, treading water in the deep end. My boots were heavy weights trying to drag me down to the bottom, so I pushed over to the edge and held on while I yankedthem off. They splashed water onto the hem of her dress when they hit the pristine tile of the pool deck.

Her hysterical laughter turned to snickers as she smirked down at me. “How’s the water?”

My eyebrow quirked. I shed my black leather jacket next, tossing it into the puddle forming around my boots. Lust flashed in the depths of her eyes, but she stayed far enough from the edge that I couldn’t pull her in with me.

She had to know that wasn’t going to do any good.

“Take off your dress, little omega,” I commanded.

Talia took another step back, coming up beside a cushioned pool lounger. It was far enough from the lit pool that her face was draped in shadows, but I saw the shake of her head. “No way.”

“I get the sense chlorine wouldn’t be good for whatever expensive fabric that’s made of,” I said. “So take it off.”

“I’m not going in there.”

“If you didn’t want to get wet, you shouldn’t have pushed me in.”

She released a delicate snort. “Didn’t think you’d actually fall.”

Sure she fucking didn’t.

The little minx had set me up for this, getting me off guard while I was focused on trying to lead her away.

A growl rumbled from my chest as I grabbed the hem of my t-shirt and pulled it up and off, leaving me bare-chested in the pool. Talia’s scent was covered by the scent-blockers we’d used for the heist, but I saw her clench her thighs together as I stripped down.

It was getting to her.
