“I’m having him. I’m having the baby.” The present wriggled in my jacket as I bent over and turned my knees inward. I faked a painful expression, dramatically wincing. “It hurts so much.”
Thor straightened, sitting up against the headboard. His frown deepened and a half amused, half confused smile slid onto his face. He laughed. “What are you….”
“It’s too late. It’s here, Sir. It’s….” I reached into the bottom of my jacket and grabbed the present, bringing it out for Thor to see. “It’s a boy!”
The puppy in my hands yapped, kicking his tiny feet and wriggling against my hold. He was a pug mixed with a beagle, but looked more like the former, and was barely bigger than the hand I held him in.
“Whatisthat?” He slipped out from under the blankets, the golden gleam of his naked body giving me pause for a moment. I couldn’t help but run my gaze over the many beautiful planes of his body. Mouth watering, I swallowed.
“This is your son. You did just see me give birth to him, right? Instead of an eight-legged horse, this Loki gave birth tohim.” I gave Thor a silly grin, and he laughed.
“You’re ridiculous, Loki. That’s a….” He stared at the puppy, head cocked. “What is it? Seriously.”
“It’s a pug and beagle mix. A puggle!” I held the wiggling puppy out to him, my gaze caught on the ridges of muscles along his belly.
“You got a dog?” He took the puppy from me and raised him higher, assessing him. “If you could call this thing a dog. Why didn’t you get me Doberman or a Rottweiler? Why a pug?”
“Pug mixed with beagle,” I reminded him. “Puggle. It’s fun to say.”
He glared, and I erupted into laughter. “I know, Loki, but look at him.” He turned the pup around to face me, and I was stared at with big round eyes above a squashed black, wet nose. The pup’s tongue was poking out and it looked like he was grinning at me with his mouth open. “He’s more pug than beagle.”
“He’s cute,” I said as seriously as I could, though it was hard to contain the amusement. I wiped the back of my hand over my mouth when Thor gave me a pinched look. “Thor and his pug. A story for the ages. The god Thor had his mjölnir. Hey, now that’s an idea. You can call him that.”
Thor rolled his eyes. “I can’t even pronounce that kind of name.” He turned the pup around to face him again and pursed his lips. The pug and he stared at each other for a long moment before Thor finally sighed. “I’ll call him Hammer.”
I slapped a hand over my mouth, laughing until my sides hurt. Not even Thor’s fierce glare could stop me from nearly collapsing on the floor from my amusement.
He rolled his eyes and grabbed me, dragging both me andHammerto the bed, then fell on top of the mattress. Hammer yapped when Thor released him, running in circles around our feet until he dived between our bodies, wriggling his cute little bottom and curled tail.
“He’s a rat,” Thor grumbled, laying his hand on top of Hammer’s small body, but I didn’t miss the softness in his face as he stared at the pup. “He gets his looks from you.”
I chuckled and snuggled into his side, careful not to squash the dog between us. Throwing a leg over Thor’s knee, I ran my hand down his muscled chest and lower until I stopped at his stomach, teasing my fingers over the vee that led to a glorious treasure. Thor’s cock twitched against his thigh, and I licked my lips. “Are you calling me ugly, Sir?”
“No, never.” He cupped my cheek, and my eyes slipped closed involuntarily. “I think you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen in my life. You’re mine, Loki Ward.”
My mouth curved and my eyes opened again, and I stared at him, my heart clattering against my ribs. “Do you love me, Tobias?” I whispered, scarcely audible above the yaps from Hammer. The dog hopped across the bed like he was on steroids, barely able to keep still now that Thor’s hand wasn’t on his back.
Thor’s smile spread warmth through me, and it was all I could do not to beg him to take me, to show me how much I meant to him. “I’ve loved you for a long time, Loki.” He slid his thumb down my cheek and across my jaw, his touch gentle and promising. “No one can take you away from me now.”
“Good.” I brushed my nose against his, my hand sliding lower until I had my fingers wrapped around my prize. He sucked in a deep breath. “Because I love you, too.”
Thor’s rough kiss was all I needed. It was all I’d ever wanted. I had him in ways no one else could. I knew every part of him, and he was mine. And I was his, too.
Thunk.
“Loki,” Thor whispered against my lips. “I think the dog fell off the bed.”
I laughed.
