I nodded and finished strapping Loki’s bag to his bike. I walked around to stand in front of Odin. “Got it, Pres.”
“Keep your eyes on the road. Don’t have a fender bender, eh?” He slapped me on the shoulder, and we shook hands. “You take care of yourself and my boy. I need you both back here for this Souls shit we have to deal with.”
I grinned. “You know me, Pres. I’m always up for a showdown.”
He laughed, the sound rich and carefree. This was why I liked Odin. He was a dangerous man, yet he was as cool as a Washington morning after a night of rain. Nothing fazed him, not even the Souls and their vendetta against us. Pleasant Beach was a safe zone for a reason.
By the time I had my tail bag attached to the Harley, Loki was sitting on his bike. He hit the ignition and she rumbled to life, the sound of her engine echoing through the quiet morning air. I jumped on my Harley and did the same thing, but my bike was twice as loud.
We gave Odin a wave, and I heard Loki say goodbye to Hoor before we drove down the driveway. We hit the narrow streets of Ridgeford, and I took the lead. I got us onto the main freeway that took us to the north side of Pleasant Beach, and when we neared the edge of town, I gestured for Loki to follow me.
He gave me a wave of acknowledgement and I veered into a diner that sat on the very outskirts. My belly growled. We needed some fuel before we hit other bikers’ territories and this was the perfect place to do it.
