I stepped out of the heels that I was wearing, pulled my jeans up, and Law swaggered his way over to me, and I swear I wanted to jump across this damn chair, and beat his ass.
All I could think to myself was how he had his nerve to get mad at me when he found out about the night that I had with Dominic, when him, and I didn’t even go all the way.
I just had to stand here in front of a bitch that he’s fucked on multiple occasions.
I would fix my mouth to say that I was over the situation, and pretend that it didn’t bother me, but the second I would get in the same room as that bitch, I would show that I wasn’t as over it as I made myself believe that I was.
“I don’t even know why you allow that bitch to get you riled up like that. Ignore her. That’s the same shit that I do whenever I see her out, and about,” he was nonchalant in his words, as he stood at the pedicure chair that was next to me, and he started removing his sneakers that he had on.
I’d already gave the salon more than enough of a show, so I decided to not even respond back to him.
Instead, I just sat my ass down in the chair, went inside my purse, and I grabbed my AirPods, so that I could place them in my ear.
I scrolled through, going for my R&B playlist, and I let the sounds boom into my ear.
What was supposed to be a day of just relaxing and spending it with my man had gown left really quick.
These past few days with Law had been tough.
He went down to the jail at the beginning of the week to visit Dutch, and he told me all about it, and how it had gone left.
Since then, he really hasn’t been in the best of moods.
He was quiet, and I could tell that he was allowing that meet up with Dutch to really put a toll on his feelings.
He was shutting down, and I had been doing everything in my power to get him out of that funk.
I could tell that the good news we received at my doctor’s appointment with the twins had really helped him to get out of that funk, and I felt like he was going to be in better spirits, and him, and I could get back to being happy, but just that fast, I had to run into that bitch, and she shifted the entire dynamic of our happiness.
This wasn’t something that I was going to drag out, and continue to be upset with him about, but I did need a minute to just calm down and forget about the shit.
I really was trying to work on all the things that Dr. Shepherd had been teaching us in therapy.
The old Soraya would have been quick to cause a scene in this salon.
I probably would have even went outside, called an uber, and didn’t tell his ass where I was going, but I was growing, and trying not to crash out the way that I used to, especially since I wanted this thing with Law, and I to work.
The whole time that we got our pedicures, Law kept trying to nudge me and get my attention.
He wanted to be my friend so badly, but I wasn’t paying his ass any attention.
We were both finished with our pedicures, and my tech helped me put my heels back on.
I thanked her, stood up, and I removed my AirPods from my ear.
Law had cash on him, so he tipped my tech, along with his, and we went to the front, so that he could pay for our services.
Once we made it out, he grabbed me up, putting me in a bear hug, and aggressively placed kisses on my cheek.
“Damn baby. I don’t know what else to say.
I know you tired of hearing it because at this point, I gotta sound like a broken record to you.
I’m sorry for fuckin them hoes. I should have had better self-control.
I can’t control Gina. I can’t stop that bitch from saying slick shit or being petty towards you when she sees you in passing.
What you want me to do? Kill the bitch?” he asked me, and I turned around in is arms, so that I could look at him.
“Can you?” I asked. I said it in a serious way, but I was just playing. That bitch didn’t bother me enough to the point where I would want her dead. Because he knew that I was only joking, he laughed.
“You talking crazy because I know you don’t mean that shit.
I know you don’t care to hear this shit, but Yaya, Gina, and every other bitch that I entertained was just pussy for me.
I needed someone to go to for me to bust a nut, and that’s where I went.
Any time you ran into her, or any other woman for that matter, they can’t sit up with you and tell you anything about me paying a bill for them, flying them out, taking them on dates, sending them money, none of that shit.
Gina messy as fuck, so if she had that kind of proof, she would have broken her neck a long time ago to show it to you.
You in a whole league of your own. Stop worrying about that little shit,” he said. I just nodded my head, dropping it.
I led the way for us to go back to the car. He opened the door for me to get in, and I stepped in, sitting with my purse in my lap, and I put my seatbelt on. Law walked around, got in, and he closed the door behind him.
“We got like two hours to spare. Want to go to Bal Harbour or something? Take your frustration out on my money. Let me trick on you,” he offered.
“I’m about to run the fuck up out of those cards. Hell yeah and park the truck close to Chanel. I’m doing damage to that card,” I warned him.
“My money long. Whatever you pick up won’t put a dint in my pockets. Come on. Let’s go,” he responded, already pulling out of the parking spot.
A shopping spree wouldn’t fix the issue that he we had, but it would damn sure work as a distraction. I was getting ready to eat his pockets up, and upgrade some new handbags, designer shoes, and jewelry into my already lengthy collection.
4:55 p.m.
I was using my key, letting myself and my family inside my mom’s house.
After Law, and I left the nail salon, we spent every second that we had left to spare at the designer shops, shopping for fashion pieces for me.
We had been in downtown Miami, so coming from that area, with all that traffic, it would take us about thirty minutes to get to the boys school, so we made sure to leave at a good time, so that we wouldn’t be late.
We grabbed the boys, and the second they were in the car, Legend started telling us about a project that was assigned to him today, that was due next week, and how he wanted us to take him to Michaels, so that he could get everything that he needed for the project.
Legend was the son that would give himself more than enough time to work on a project, while Creed on the other hand would wait until it’s late at night, and he’d just got out of practice, to start talking about a project.
Once we grabbed what Legend needed, we drove over to my mom’s house because I couldn’t let another day go by with her not knowing that I was expecting.
When we pulled up, I noticed that Shai’s car was in the driveway, which I wasn’t surprised about because Shai would bring her ass over here almost every day after she got off work, so that she could eat whatever it was that my mom made for dinner.
Shai could cook just as I could, but she liked to come over here and get home cooked meals from my mom.
“I don’t know sister, I think ma have a man coming over. She keeps questioning me about what time I’m leaving. Maybe you shouldn’t have come over with the whole gang,” Shai said to me the second that I made it into the kitchen area, where her, and my mom were.
My mom was standing at the sink, washing dishes, while Shai was sitting right at the breakfast bar, in one of the high stools. She was still in her work uniform, and she had a plate of food in front of her, that was still full, so she probably just sat down to eat not too long ago.
“Girl, don’t nobody have a man coming over. I asked you what time you were leaving because I’m going out tonight. Stop trying to spread rumors,” my mama fussed.
“Oh, alright! Let me find out that a man is coming over here!” Creed shot, going over to his grandma, and he wrapped his arms around her. The same way that he felt like he ran me, he was the exact same way with his grandma, and even Shai.
As if my mom didn’t even hear him, she ignored him, accepted his hug, and his kisses, and Legend went over doing the same thing. From there, they went for their auntie Shai, and I wasn’t surprised when they disappeared, going upstairs, leaving the adults down here.
“Ma, what’s up?” Law went over to my mom, so that he could hug her. When he finished, he went over, and did the same thing to Shai, and the empty chair that was next to her, he sat in it, and grabbed me, so that I could stand in the middle of his legs.
“Girl, that pregnancy is all in your damn face. That’s what you came over here to tell me?” my mama asked me, pausing in washing the dishes, so that she could look at me.
I was a grown ass woman, but for whatever reason, my mom would always be the one person in my life that I would be afraid of telling that I was pregnant.
When I got pregnant with the boys, I was only twenty- one, and I was still in college, and I thought that she would be so disappointed in me because she always would ride me, and Shai about getting our degrees, so I was nervous as hell to tell her, but she wasn’t even mad at me.
Years later, when I found out that I was pregnant with Sarai, I was afraid of telling her about it as well, and here I was again, holding onto those same fears.
Just the thought of my mama knowing that I was fuckin made the shit awkward for me.
“Damn ma. Why you got to say it so aggressive?” I asked her, and Shai, who was sitting right next to me laughed.
