This time, he snapped. No more restraint. Kassein let a proper growl erupt from his chest, and he grabbed a fistful of her hair, crashing her lips against his as she moaned helplessly.

Then, he toppled her over and barely took a second to adjust himself between her thighs before he pounded into her, hard.

Alezya let out a full-on wail and held onto his shoulders and neck for dear life.

He pulled out almost completely, and then he gave another deep thrust. She cried deliciously under him, taking all his might like the brave goddess she was, even giving him another nod when he checked on her with a single glance.

And so he kept going, pounding, taking, thrusting with the hunger of a beast starved for years. He didn’t need to think, his hips moved fast and hard, his ass flexing with each thrust, his legs rocking their bodies in a jerky rhythm, rough and brutal.

His elbows were needed to hold his weight above her, but his hands couldn’t get enough of her either; he kept a fistful of her silky locks between his fingers, his other hand caressing up and down her body, holding her hips for a better angle.

His mouth was just as restless as his loins; grabbing her lips every now and then, but most importantly, he trailed along the lines of her neck, her collarbone, kissing and sucking every inch of skin he could like he’d die if he missed one.

Alezya’s breathing and loud moans were filling the tent, in canon with the slapping of flesh, his grunts, and the creaking of the bed.

It was relentless, it couldn’t end, and a strong smell filled the air; it smelled like mating, sweat, and everything he loved about her.

She didn’t ask him to stop, she didn’t push him to slow down.

She took it all like a goddess, like she was made for him, like she was the one he’d been waiting for. ..

He accelerated, his grunts loud, her moans louder, again, and again, his hand finding her sensitive button, because he wanted her there too when he reached that peak, that brutal explosion of senses.

He jerked once, twice, and emptied himself with a long groan of relief, just as Alezya’s body trembled, her voice muted, her eyes rolled back.

It lasted seconds, perhaps a minute, until they both came back down, out of breath, in a strange daze.

Their eyes met, and after a second, they smiled at each other, with a long, loving gaze that didn’t need words.

Then, Kassein kissed her, gently, softly, before pulling out, Alezya shivering at the sensation.

“...Are you alright?” he whispered, peppering gentle kisses on her flushed skin.

She gave him a faint nod, although she was visibly spent. Her eyes were half closed, and if it weren’t for her fingers lazily stroking his back, he might have wondered if she was asleep.

Kassein leaned on his elbow by her side, watching this woman in reverent awe.

She was beautiful beyond words. She was completely naked against the fur blankets, except for that little necklace she’d been wearing, her hair splayed around her like dark ink, her lips wet and swollen, and her entire body was covered in his red marks like scattered petals.

It was a vision dreams were made of, and she was real, all his, breathing under him and smelling like him.

He leaned against her, pressing a kiss against her forehead, caressing her hair away from her face.

“Thirsty?” he asked.

“I’m hot,” she nodded with a chuckle.

Kassein smiled and gave her another kiss before he got off the bed, unbothered about standing naked in his tent. Quickly, he poured her some water and prepared a cloth to wipe them both.

Not only were they both covered in sweat from the exercise, but his seed was dripping from between Alezya’s legs, and while some part of him felt a bit of pride in that, it couldn’t be comfortable for her.

Thus, he cleaned them both while she slowly sipped the water.

Both of them were quiet, merely exchanging gentle kisses, lingering touches, and faint smiles.

When he came back to lie down with her, she nestled against his shoulder, neither of them bothering with the cover; it was far too hot in there. They didn’t speak; there was no need for one language or the other.

Kassein felt more relaxed than he had felt in... a very long time.

For once, maybe for the first time, he felt like he was in a place he belonged, and that was by this woman’s side.

He knew his father’s dragon had always known his mother would be his.

He knew his older sister had fallen for her partner on sight, and so did his second older brother.

Were dragons meant to mate for life? He didn’t know if it was true, but every instinct he had yearned for that woman to remain by his side. Nothing else mattered.

As he felt her breathing slow down next to him, he trailed his finger along her spine softly, taking in every inch of her beauty. She was tired, but she still shifted in her sleep to cover one of his legs with hers, nestling her cheek against his shoulder and making him smile.

Aware his body heat wouldn’t be enough for her through the night, Kassein pulled a fur blanket over her, but he couldn’t find sleep. The adrenaline from their passionate lovemaking was keeping him far too awake.

It had just happened, and yet he wanted to replay that memory over and over in his head to keep every detail fresh. He had a faint smile on his face, something few people had witnessed in recent years. He was content, with everything he desired breathing against his shoulder.

He stole another glance down at Alezya. She was deep asleep, rightfully exhausted.

He would have gone for a second and maybe third round, but the young woman definitely wouldn’t have been able to endure that.

Kassein brought her hand to his lips, kissing her fingers, but she was far too exhausted to feel it.

This experience had been... mind-blowing.

He’d never been with a woman before. It wasn’t a secret, merely a fact. He had never found someone he had wanted to satisfy his teenage curiosity with, and when one grew up with a large number of siblings and a status that put him above everyone else, it was hard to look for partners.

Kassein had always followed his family until he had felt like too much of a third wheel with his parents and too useless to his older siblings.

His teenagehood had been mostly spent trying to convince his older brother he wasn’t just the “Wild Prince” everyone called him because of his mad dragon, to no avail.

He had reached the age of eighteen with no other will than to find somewhere he would belong, and he had never found it until now.

He had been mad beyond words when his brother had exiled him to the north, yet now, he found himself grateful. What would have happened to Alezya if he hadn’t been in the north? If Kein hadn’t been prowling the area? If he hadn’t pushed his army to set camp so far...?

Kassein let out another sigh. Perhaps he would never get his brother’s approval, and perhaps he’d reached a point where he didn’t care for it anymore.

He and Kassian were only close in name. That was it.

It was almost ironic how the two children who had been named in the tradition, after their parents’ own names, couldn’t see eye to eye.

His siblings had been named after ancestors and dead relatives, but Kassian and Kassein were the ones meant to be a testament to their parents’ love: Kairen and Cassandra.

Sometimes, he hated how he could never escape the comparison with his older brother when they couldn’t have been more different, born fourteen years apart with nothing to share.

If he had his own struggles, Kassian had never shared them.

His oldest brother was the perfect son, the one destined to be Emperor, the golden first child.

Kassein was the second-to-last child, forgettable if not for the chaos in his wake, a disappointment when there had been no expectations.

And yet, he had finally found the peace he’d always yearned for, with one fateful meeting with a woman. The dragon that had been trying to kill him for so many years was now peacefully snoring outside.

While he was still at war with the rest of the world, Kassein was finally at peace with himself. And for one evening, that was more than enough to qualify as happiness.

He stayed awake for most of the night, his eyes remaining open in the darkness while he listened to Alezya’s breathing. That woman slept like she had years of sleep to catch up on. She barely even moved at all, except for instinctively getting closer to the main source of heat, Kassein.

When the sun rose, however, he knew he would have to get up, or else his sister was likely to come and fetch him herself as he’d promised to train with her.

Kassein extracted himself from the bed slowly and almost unwillingly, keeping an eye on Alezya’s sleeping figure at all times while he got dressed.

He couldn’t get enough of how beautiful that woman was.

He couldn’t even remember moving, his body drawn toward the bed again, where he gently pulled the blankets over her body and pressed his lips against her bare shoulder before he covered it.

“Kassein?” she stirred with that dreamy voice.

“Go back to sleep, my moonlight. I’ll be back later.”

“What does that mean? That word you called me...”

She sounded tired, and she wasn’t even opening her eyes, her breathing still slow. Kassein smiled and pressed his lips against her temple this time.

“I’ll tell you later,” he whispered against her ear.

If she heard that, Alezya showed no sign she did.

It was more likely she’d fallen back asleep, tired as she was. Still, Kassein lingered over her for a couple more seconds, taking in the sight of that woman’s sleeping figure under the gentle sunrise until he really had to leave.

Leaving his tent and the woman in it had taken superhuman effort, even for a prince with Dragon Blood flowing through his veins.
