“Yeeessss, oh, please Oliver,” she moaned, and as he thrust into her, she took every inch of his cock, his frenulum pulsing inside her, making her internal muscles tighten around him until he could no longer stop the tide.
With a shout, he plunged his teeth into her neck, and she cried out. Her blood sweet and somehow fuller bodied, richer and more delicious than ever before.
This, he realized, was what they both needed.
To feed off each other, to replenish as they pleasured one another.
As he pounded deeper into her, seeing his cock surge in between her butt cheeks, he held her wide and added a finger to her little hole, teasing it.
“More, Oliver more.”
And now, finally, he allowed himself to claim her completely, no guilt, no holding back. He plunged into her as he sucked her blood, mouth and cock pulsing to the same rhythm as his orgasm broke.
Hips canting wildly, he growled long and deep and came so hard he was sure he would disintegrate. And Clare was there with him, crying out her release.
Together they fell in a heap on the bed, blood dripping from their fangs, mingling with the juices of their lovemaking, wild and raw and beautiful.
As they lay together panting, Oliver realized that making love to Clare in her vampiric form was the most cathartic thing he had ever experienced.
There was no pain as he thought of his loved ones, no pain even in the memory of Effie. No shame. The past was laid to rest.
The present was perfect.
The future full of possibilities.
As he gathered his beloved to his chest, Oliver knew that he was whole again.
CHAPTER 34
ONE WEEK LATER
The team were all gathered in the little meeting room of Motham PD.
It really was a squeeze today, because quite a few of Grayson’s gargoyle had joined them for the debrief.
Oliver stood against the windowsill, arms folded over his chest, flicking flirtatious glances at his beloved. She was dressed in her usual neat grey suit and white blouse, but she had left her hair loose, and it fell around her slender neck in a riot of warm golden waves.
Gods, how he loved her.
He stifled a yawn. They’d made love twice last night. Maybe he was getting old, but this morning he’d needed an extra coffee to get himself to work.
Saul walked in briskly.
“Right-oh guys. We’re going to spend this time wrapping up the case and filling in what has happened since the demise of the Dark Dimension.”
They all nodded.
“Clare, Oliver—who wants to go first?”
“We’ll present together,” Oliver said, as they both moved to the front of the room.
“So essentially, the news is that Selig police authorities have questioned the Jordak family and have now arrested Quentin Jordak.” Clare said. “Which, frankly, is a huge relief. He has been operating under the radar for too long.”
“Why would a Jordak have gotten involved in the first place?” Saul asked.
Oliver rubbed his fingers together to signify coin. “That and promises of eternal life and status in the new world order, apparently.”
“Plus,” Clare added, “Quentin had a massive chip on his shoulder. He was the least favored son, and he’d already disgraced the family name. He wanted to take over the family empire, and what better way than to team up with vampires?”
