A Month Later
"Okay, let's do this," I say, rubbing my hands together.
"Get out," Everly squeaks. She tosses her arms up like that'll stop us.
Silly girl.
We have no shame.
"No way," Archie says, lounging against the door frame.
"I brought you a cup," Murphy says, poking his head in the bathroom door.
Evie's on the toilet, about to take a pregnancy test. She's currently bent over with her head on her knees, like she can't believe she's stuck with us.
"Next thing you know, he's going to offer to hold it for you," Connor says, peeking his head in.
"Cassie warned me this would happen. I said no way, my guys will respect the sanctity of my bathroom time. She was right. You're lunatics. All alphas are lunatics."
"It's just pee," I say with a shrug. "You've peed while I was in the shower. What's the difference?"
"This pee is special," Murphy says, scratching at his jaw and holding out the cup. He even wiggles it. The big oblivious bastard.
"You're one to talk," Archie says to Evie.
"Calling us lunatics. None of us said a word when you went all broody and started stealing our dirty clothes from after the gym. You’ve stashed them all over the nest. We had to buy new workout clothes because a sneaky little omega steals all of ours. We don't judge around here."
“The nest does smell like a locker room lately," Connor adds with a nod. "And you still have my favorite pair of workout pants."
"Don't try to shame me," Evie grumbles. "Your clothes smell better when you've saturated them in your man funk." She shrugs. "I have no idea why."
Murphy wiggles the cup again, giving her an encouraging smile, and I can't hold back the bark of laughter.
Everly sighs. "I'll hold it until later." She moves like she's about to pull up her panties.
Murphy pouts, shoving his bottom lip out.
"Please? This is important to me," Murphy says in a damn convincing voice.
"You bloody wanker," Archie says, rolling his eyes. "I knew you'd try to guilt her into letting you stay."
"How about I pee in that cup, and then whichever of you wants to be can be in here when we dunk it?" Evie offers, swiping a hand over her face. "Is that a decent compromise?"
We all grumble some form of assent and file out the door.
Evie softly mutters her way through the whole experience. It's cute as hell when she reminds herself she'd miss us if she killed us… because she loves us.
My jaw drops.
"Did she just?" Connor asks.
"She sure did!" Archie agrees.
"Move," Murphy growls.
The four of us have a shoving match, trying to get inside the door first. Evie's finishing washing her hands when Murph bursts through the door. The small disposable coffee cup sits on the counter. The stick lies next to it.
"I love you," Murphy growls, picking her up and spinning her around.
"I love you, too," she whispers, holding her hands out. "But I haven't dried my hands yet."
"I literally couldn't care less," Murphy says, kissing the hell out of her.
"The cup is empty," Connor grumbles, staring down into it.
"Yeah, sorry. I lied. I peed directly on the stick," Evie says, laughing. She steps over, giving him a hug. "Hey, Conn, I love you."
"I love you, too, little omega." They share a kiss.
Archie picks up the box, reading the instructions for the fiftieth time.
When Connor and Evie are finished, I pull her to me.
"You know I love you, right, baby girl?" I brush my nose against hers.
"Yeah, I know," she says, stretching up to kiss my cheek. "I love you too."
"Uhhh, Luke," Archie says, catching my attention. He nods to Murphy, who's holding the pregnancy test and swaying a bit.
"Aww, hell," I grumble, letting go of Evie. I step over to Murphy's big ass.
"Guess what, lass," Archie says, spinning Evie around and dipping her toward the ground.
"What?"
"We're going to have a baby," he says, kissing the hell out of her. "Oh, yes, and I love you."
"I love you, too." She beams. "It's positive?"
"Yes," Connor agrees, peeking over Murphy's shoulder.
"Fuck yes," I whoop, fist-pumping the air. Murph staggers off toward the bedroom, and I glance between him and Evie. "Well, shit." I did promise I'd try to keep him from hitting the ground, so I follow him.
Connor slaps me on the back as I pass. "Seriously? On the first try? We have super sperm," he says, grinning and shaking his head.
Murphy makes it to the bed and tosses his massive ass down. He's still holding the damn pregnancy test for dear life.
"It better fucking be a boy," Murph says, shaking his head. "How the hell do men do this with daughters?"
I bark a laugh, taking the seat at his side. "We should buy that large animal sanctuary soon so it doesn't look suspicious down the line."
"Good idea," Murphy says, pulling out his phone. "I'll do research now."
"This is going to be a wild ride," Archie says, coming in and taking a seat at my side.
"We'll manage," Connor says, sitting next to Murphy. "What the hell are you researching?"
"If it's a girl, we're going to need an easy body disposal system for any little fuckers who come nosing around," Murphy grumbles under his breath. "We should adopt several toddlers, all boys. That way, even if it's a girl we're covered."
"Mmm, I like that idea," Archie muses. "I think four or five kids is a good number."
Evie comes out of the bathroom and spots us.
"You all abandoned me," she says, laughing. "I see you all needed to sit down to regain your composure. Okay, get closer together. I want a picture of this."
Murphy sets down the phone and holds up the stick as we all indulge our perfect match of an omega.
