Page 53 of The Hunter
We finally find out why Cecelia d’Este had a file on me at Ali and Tomas’ wedding, nine months after I moved to Venice.
The wedding takes place outdoors, in a large square with a spectacular view of the water. The bride wears one of Rosa’s creations, a simple and elegant satin gown with a scoop neckline that hugs her body before gently flaring into a shimmering skirt that’s cut with a side slit to give her room to move. It’s a beautiful dress, and Ali looks amazing in it, and I confess, I have a moment’s pang that Joao and I never got to do this—to gather in front of our family and friends to declare our love.
