Page 96 of The Heartbreaker
“Don’t bullshit me,” I growled. “We both know a place like this doesn’t have a rule like that.”
The manager rocked back in his chair. “I don’t have access to the feed.”
Fucking liar.
I set my arms on the edge of his desk. “Don’t make my legal team come in here and bury this club. The second they get ahold of the footage—and they will—the PR damage alone will put you out of a job, and the doors of this establishment will be locked forever.” My eyes narrowed. “Or you can play nice and give me what I’m asking for.” I pulled out my phone, entered my password, and found Jenner Dalton’s contact information, my thumb hovering over the Phone button. “Do I make the phone call? The choice is yours.”
His stare hardened. “You’re a son of a bitch—you know that?” He typed something on the keyboard, moved the mouse around on its pad, and turned the screen toward me. “Just so you know, I haven’t seen any of this.”
“Do you think, at this point, I’m holdingyouliable?” I spit. “I already know you’re underqualified for this position, and whatever idiot hired you clearly didn’t know what the fuck they were doing.” I ground my teeth together. “Pull up the camera feed. I’m losing my patience.”
What was showing on his monitor was feed from the hallway that led to the private rooms.
He rewound the footage until I spotted her and said, “Stop.”
The footage began to play in real time. He noted which number door she had taken the customer to, and he pulled up the individual feed for only that room.
As I watched the screen, seeing the bastard take a seat and spread his legs and cup his hard-on, my jaw clenched.
My hands balled into fists.
I hadn’t anticipated what it would feel like to see this on the screen. To witness a man be this close to Addison, to put his hands on her, to look at her in a way that should only be reserved for me.
I didn’t care what we were or what pace we were moving at or whether we had titles or not. In my mind, that woman was mine.
And seeing that he was touching her, that his grip was aggressive and attacking, was sending me so far over the fucking edge.
But it didn’t just end there.
He put his face in her ass when she was bent over, and his hand skimmed the inside of her thigh as well.
There was no volume. I couldn’t hear the exchange of words. I could only see her lips moving, my mind filling in the words that she was shouting at him.
“Look at what that motherfucker is doing to her.” I stared at the manager, demanding a response. “You can’t tell me he’s not crossing a line.” When he said nothing, I slapped my hand on the desk. “Answer me!”
“I think it’s best that I say nothing.”
That response made me want to reach across the desk, pick him up, and slam him on top of it. But that wouldn’t get me what I ultimately needed from him.
So, I hissed instead, “And I’m the son of a bitch.” When Addison kicked the man in the balls and took off from the room, the customer falling off his chair and shriveling up in a ball on the ground, I seethed. “Where is he?”
“Who?” the manager asked. “The customer?”
I nodded.
“Why don’t you go see if he’s still here?” the manager said to the bodyguard.
The bodyguard left and shut the door behind him.
The second the handle clicked in the lock, the manager turned the monitor so I could no longer see it, folding his arms on top of the desk. “Don’t ask me for a copy of that feed. I won’t give it to you.”
I said nothing. I just continued to stare at him, letting him simmer in silence, guessing my next move.
I could take this in many different directions.
But only one worked to Addison’s benefit, even if the others would self-satisfy me.
“I don’t want the feed.” I crossed my legs and my arms and felt the smile slowly creep across my face. “There’s something else I want instead.”
