I woke up the morning after Lyric’s and my date to an empty bed and a note on the pillow. Lyric had to go into the office for a bit, but she thanked me again for a good time. I needed to be thanking her for putting that good ass mouth and pussy on me.

After I got out of bed, I made sure I had everything and went to my room. Like I did every morning, I did fifty pushups and fifty sit-ups. When that was done, I showered and threw on some clothes to chill for the day.

I prayed that Lyric didn’t have any plans for the day because I wanted to do something for her. I was supposed to be relaxing, but I wanted to spend every waking moment with Lyric. I wanted to show her how serious I was about her.

Messing around with Lyric the night before, I worked up an appetite and was starving.

I ordered room service, then relaxed on the couch in the hotel room while I set up the day’s activities.

I knew Lyric liked to shop and needed something to do besides work, so I made a few calls and arranged for Lyric to get some stuff from her favorite stores.

I had to do a little research because I wasn’t sure if she still liked the same thing, but luckily, her social media page told me all I needed to know.

By no means was I trying to buy her, but I wanted her to focus on keeping her money in her pocket and enjoying herself. It didn’t take long for me to figure out that she worked too much. I was just trying to lighten her load a little.

Lyric made her own money, and I knew she would never ask me for any, which made it easy for me to want to spend mine on her.

Just as I put the finishing touches on everything, my phone rang.

“Yo.”

“Damn, I thought you got kidnapped or some shit,” Terrance joked when I answered.

I laughed and shook my head. “My bad, man. You forgot I told you I hooked up with Lyric that I went to college with?”

“Oh shit, I sure did. How did that go?”

I went on to tell him about the date, minus the intimate stuff of course. I wasn’t a kiss-and-tell type of dude. I did tell him about the things I had planned for the day.

“I need to stop by her job to make sure she’s even available for the day.”

“Dawg, you did all of that, and she could still say no. Yeah, you gone over shorty.”

Terrance knew how I felt about Lyric, and he knew how I was coming. We had the conversation about her before.

I shrugged, even though he couldn’t see me. “A little, but I have no doubts that she’ll be down.”

“I hope so. I’m not gonna hold you up, Casanova. I have some plans of my own.”

I could tell by his tone that he had a sneaky grin on his face.

“Don’t get yourself into no shit you can’t get out of,” I joked.

“I’m careful. You don’t either.”

“I’m good. Anything I get into with Lyric is wanted.”

We talked for a few more minutes, then I got up to head to the office building where Lyric worked.

During my research on her social media page, I learned about her love of coffee, and I was sure she could use another cup.

I gathered my room key and put my phone in my pocket before I headed out. I noticed it was a coffee shop a few doors down from the hotel, so I stopped there first.

Lyric was in her temporary office when I arrived. She was alone, but looked to be busy, so I tapped on the door. She smiled when she looked up.

When she motioned for me to enter, I pushed open the door. The sweet smell of her perfume circulated in the room.

“Hey, sorry I had to leave you this morning. I didn’t want to wake you,” she said as she stood from her chair.

Today she wore black leggings with a white Tech Angels T-shirt. Her feet were covered with white socks but no shoes.

“It’s cool.” I walked over to her and kissed her cheek. “I got you something.”

Her eyes lit up when I passed her the cup.

“Thank you.” She took a sip and hummed. “This is perfect. How did you know how I liked my coffee?” Her hand flew to her wide hip as she took another sip.

My eyes gravitated to the curves of her hips.

“I have my secrets,” I teased. “I came here for a reason.”

She dropped her hand and put the cup on her desk. “Oh yeah? What is the reason?”

Lyric put her head down and blushed when I crowded her space. I loved how she acted shy around me.

I lifted her chin with my index finger. “Don’t get shy now. You weren’t shy when you had my dick in the back of your throat.”

Her eyes softened and became glossy. “Chauncey.” My name came out in a half-whisper, half-moan.

If given the chance, she’d do it again in a heartbeat.

“Don’t say my name like that unless you want everybody in this office see you get fucked. Is that what you want?” I gently stroked her cheek.

Lyric closed her eyes and inhaled. “As intriguing as that sounds, I don’t want these women to see what you working with.

” She looked down at my dick, then back into my eyes and smirked.

“What brings you by?” She stepped back but couldn’t go far because the desk was behind her, but she leaned against it.

“Possessive already. I like that.” I lifted the corner of my mouth when Lyric sucked her teeth. “Anyway, I’m here because I wanted to spend the day with you if you have time.”

Lyric pushed herself off the desk and put her hand on my chest. “You’re in luck. I’ll be done here soon. What time were you thinking?”

“I’m on your time, love. Just let me know when you are ready.”

“Okay. Give me about an hour.”

That was the perfect amount of time for me to double-check everything and let the stores know when we were coming.

“Perfect. I’ll see you in an hour. Dress comfortably.”

“Okay.” She smiled.

Her eyes closed when I leaned forward and kissed her forehead.

“See you in an hour.”

I walked out of her office and headed back to the hotel.

A while later, Lyric and I were on the strip, shopping and enjoying each other’s company.

We’d been talking and laughing as we went into multiple stores.

She tried to pay for her things in the first store, but I had to put a stop to it.

I wanted her to enjoy the moment. I could tell she needed a day to relax and not worry about work.

By the way she looked the other day in the bar, I could tell she hadn’t laughed as much as she did with me.

Every time she laughed, it came from her belly, and she had the prettiest smile.

We didn’t spend too much time in the first store, but I knew when we got to the third one, she would be in heaven.

She didn’t know where we were going, because I wanted that one to be a surprise.

It was amazing how much you could learn from a person just by what they posted on social media.

That wasn’t always the case because people liked to post shit that wasn’t real sometimes.

Lyric didn’t post a lot, so I knew the things she did post were real.

I didn’t post shit on mine except for random shit, but nothing of importance.

When we arrived, Lyric stopped in her tracks at the front door. She turned around to face me. “Chauncey, who have you been talking to? How did you know I’ve been dying to come here?”

“I haven’t been talking to anyone.” I chuckled. “I just know these things. They are waiting for you.”

Her eyes widened. “What do you mean they are waiting for me?”

I pulled the door open and motioned for her to enter.

We were greeted as soon as we stepped inside. “Hello, welcome to Nae’s Threads. I’m Janae. This is for you.” She handed us each a glass of champagne.

Lyric whipped her head around to me, then back at Janae.

“I can’t believe you are here. I follow you on social media.”

“I come here sometimes, to check things out, but not too often. Luckily, my husband and I were out when Chauncey called. I had to come meet you if this guy called in a favor.” Janae pointed in my direction and smiled.

Janae owned a boutique in Sweetwater Hills that expanded to multiple cities over the last two years. From what I knew, she was hardly at the Vegas location.

“Thank you. I appreciate you guys. Where is your husband, anyway?” I asked.

“He’s at the hotel handling some business.”

I shook my head and laughed. I met her husband, Kaleb, when I had an assignment to assist him on a flight a few years back. He was the mayor of a small town named Sweetwater Hills. He was a cool dude, and we connected. I visited them a few times over the years when I needed a break from the world.

“Always working. Well, I’m going to have a seat while you two do your thing.”

I walked to the yellow love seat with multiple pillows covering it. It looked comfortable, and I had a feeling we would be there for a while.

From my seat, I was able to see Lyric and Janae talking. Janae said something in Lyric’s ear, and they both looked at me. Lyric had the biggest smile on her face. I winked, and she blushed.

She wore a mint green short set that showed off the thickness in her thighs. Her hair was up in a loose ponytail. It was simplistic, but it looked good on her.

The two of them disappeared, so I pulled out my phone to keep myself occupied.

“She’s a good one.”

I jumped a little when Janae came up behind me.

“Yeah, she is. We’ve known each other since college, but life happened. We just reconnected the other day,” I informed her.

“It was meant to be then. I don’t know much about her, but something in my spirit tells me she’s good for you. I’m going to disappear unless she needs me, but she has a few things to work with. I need to check on my husband.” Janae patted my shoulder, then walked away.

A second later, Lyric emerged from the dressing room. I couldn’t take my eyes off her as she walked toward me.

“You like?” She did a slow spin, and my dick twitched.

I stood from the chair and closed the space between us. I put my hands on her hips and kept them there. I wanted to hug her, but I needed to take in the dress up close.

“Like? Does it come in multiple colors? Gotdamn.” I bit my bottom lip as I stood back a little to look at her again.

Lyric giggled.

I loved the confidence she exuded. The word insecure wasn’t in Lyric’s vocabulary.

The dress was the same red color as her hair. It dipped down in the front, showing her ample cleavage. It hugged her every curve and stopped a few inches above the knee.

A twinge of jealousy hit me because Lyric wasn’t my girl, and she could potentially wear that dress with someone else.

“It does come in multiple colors.”

“Get one in every color it comes in.” I dropped my hands from her hips and circled her like a lion does its prey. I stopped in front of her. “I can’t tell you what to do, but please don’t wear this dress with another nigga.”

She laughed, but I wasn’t joking. Her laughter stopped when she noticed the seriousness in my face.

“Real shit, Lyric. This dress and any other color of this dress are reserved for me only.”

“Okay, Chauncey.” She rolled her eyes, but I knew she was a woman of her word. “I have some other stuff to try on.”

Before she could walk away, I grabbed her wrist and pulled her to me. I lowered my head and kissed her lips. “Thank you.” I kissed her again, then released her.

I sat back down and watched her until she disappeared. Lyric didn’t know it yet, but she wouldn’t get an opportunity to wear any of the shit she got for another dude. She was going to be mine.

After multiple dresses and outfits, Lyric and I left the boutique with my hands full of bags. She and Janae exchanged phone numbers and promised to call each other.

“I really can’t believe you did all of this.” Lyric gushed as we walked down the street.

“I’ll do whatever it takes to put that smile on your face.”

Her hand was in mine, while I carried the bags in my other hand. I spotted Lyric’s coworker from the bar, and I prayed she went the other way, but I didn’t have such luck.

“Hey, Chauncey,” she spoke as she approached.

I felt Lyric’s hand tighten around mine.

“What’s good?”

The chick glanced at Lyric, then back at me. She smirked when she noticed our connected hands.

“What are you doing with her?” She curled her lip in disgust. “I thought we could pick up where we left off.”

Lyric let my hand go and stepped in front of me. “Bi”

I pulled Lyric back and kissed her temple.

“Nah, we not doing that, baby. Don’t ever let someone who could never be you make you stoop to their level.

” I kissed her lips, then turned to face ol’ girl.

“We didn’t leave off anywhere. I entertained you because you talked to me first. You may be smart, and hell, you’re pretty, but you are the type that think you can get any man you want.

I might have fucked you, but that would have been it.

Now, my lady and I are trying to enjoy our day.

You should do the same.” With that, I grabbed Lyric’s hand and stepped around the chick, leaving her standing on the sidewalk looking stupid.

“Well damn. Thank you for pulling me back, because things could have gotten ugly.”

“I won’t allow you to jeopardize everything you worked for, for anybody. What’s her beef about anyway?”

We’d been out for hours, and I was getting tired of walking. I was sure Lyric was, too, but she hadn’t said anything. Whenever she was ready to call it a day, we would.

“I got the position she wanted. She never said anything out of the way at work, but I know she doesn’t like me. She’s always rolling her eyes and sucking her teeth whenever I give her an assignment or any direction. She’s good at her job, but her attitude sucks.”

“Well, if she ever causes you any problems, let me know, and I’ll handle it.”

Lyric stopped walking and faced me. She wrapped her arms around my neck. I looked down at her and moved a strand of hair from her face. Her ponytail had gotten a little disheveled from trying on clothes for hours, so there were a few loose strands.

“I appreciate you. Not just for stopping me, but also for this whole day. Before the day is over, I want your dick in my mouth while I hang off the side of the bed.”

My shit bricked when she said that, and the determined look in her eyes let me know she was serious. She didn’t know I already had plans for us to spend the night together in my room.

“Shit, you ready to go back to the room now?” I gripped a handful of her ass. I didn’t care who saw us. Public affection never bothered me.

Lyric threw her head back and laughed. “Not yet. We have one more store to go to.”

I placed soft kisses on her exposed neck. She giggled and tried to move away, but I held on to her.

“You got that. Just don’t forget what you said.”

“I won’t. Oh, and don’t think I missed when you called me your lady.”

I pulled Lyric into me and wrapped my arms around her waist. “I know. It’s not something that has to be discussed right now, but we will soon.” I released her and grabbed her hand. “Let’s finish shopping.”
