KIMMY

We went a few more weeks stealing kisses and making love in awkward locations during the slow hours at The Good Char.

One random day, D showed up at my doorstep in all black and a leather jacket. He was a sight to behold—every woman’s fantasy came to life.

“What are you doing here? Not that it’s not a nice surprise. Do you want to come inside?” I was hoping he said yes when he gave me a crooked smirk, making my heart palpitate.

“I always come inside, little carrion. Make no mistake,” he replied confidently, taking a step inside.

I sputtered and closed the door, trying to fan myself from his crude words. He was so naughty and I loved him that way.

I bit my bottom lip. As many times as I had told him I loved him in my daydreams, I don’t think I ever had the confidence to tell him out loud.

I know he desires my body, his actions proved it time and time again. But love? Could a demon love a human?

Before I could take a step, D caged me in against the door and my eyes widened.

“Have you been causing trouble?” He purred. It was something he asked frequently beneath his breath when we stole moments together. I think he loved punishing me for what he deemed as transgressions.

I giggled and his nostrils flared before he leaned in and took a deep inhale.

My giggles turned into gasps when my little kitten, Molly, began to growl at scratch at his boots. For some reason she comically despised D.

“Why haven’t you gotten rid of this creature yet?” D barked out and I laughed.

I cradled his face and gave him a chaste kiss on the nose, ignoring his scowl. “Because she reminds me of you,” I told him lovingly.

“Impossible. I am nothing like that little wretched, freeloading fur ball.”

“You’re so silly. You know, the other day the poor little thing was covered in fleas.

I don’t know how it happened but I had some extra funding left over from my last check so I was able to buy her the best shampoo.

It made her black fur glisten so nicely.

I’m so happy the others got adopted out.

But I’m grateful they kept one just for me,” I gushed.

“The little furry Cretin,” he grumbled under my breath and I giggled, grabbing his hand and pulling him to my newly covered loveseat.

“Do you like the couch cover? I was finally brave enough to invite my mother over the other day since it’s more presentable now.

I was so nervous she would complain and berate me about my choices.

But after a few bouts of ugly cries, she left here with the understanding that I was committed on my path,” I smiled sadly and D cupped my face.

I omitted the fact that she was still trying to push Mrs. Chen’s son onto me, stating he just opened up his own firm with multiple people working under him.

I finally told her that I was interested in someone else but refused to name who.

As for my father, he still hasn’t agreed to come visit but I was going to worry about that another day. One little victory at a time.

1986 came faster than I anticipated and I was much more content in life. Oh! And we found Cindy.

She ended up somewhere I never thought she would be.

D refuses to tell me the details but it involved a deal with another demon who was very reluctant to let her go. After I let her settle and her parents rejoiced in their reunion, I called her up one day to ask her about it.

“Are you really alright, Cin?” I asked again, twirling the cord around my finger, waiting for her answer.

“More than alright. I’m glad I don’t have to stare at that asshole Melkgard anymore. He annoyed me beyond belief day in and day out.” Her tone kept rising and I could hear her breathing heavier and heavier into the receiver.

“I’m just glad you’re back. And hey, I’m sorry about the fight we had before you… you know. I missed you terribly and tried everything I could to find you.” I laughed humorlessly. “I bet some of the missing person posters are still up around your house.”

“I saw that,” her voice softened. “I’m sorry too, Kimmy. Gosh, if I could go back in time…”

I was pulled from my memory by a familiar gruff voice.

“Your attention needs to be on me, little carrion. Nothing else,” D hummed, leaning in to plant soft kisses on my throat.

“You’re always on my mind, D. How could you not be? You take over my senses every time you’re in a room with me,” I admitted with a blush.

“The way your skin flushes makes mine want to break free.”

I blushed further, thinking of all the last time he took me in his true form. “I’d like that,” I whispered, intentionally enticing him.

He growled and nipped my skin before pulling back. His eyes danced with different colors again and I pressed my legs together. “A new bed will be delivered tomorrow. I’m not having the toddler sized bed you have now in my home.”

I blinked a few times, trying to understand what he was saying. Did he—Did he just move in with me?

A smile bloomed on my face and he grinned in response, a peek of his fang showing through.

Before I could force him into a compromising position, he quickly pulled out something from his pocket and shoved it into my cleavage.

“What’s this?” I asked curiously, turning the little box in my hands.

“Open it.”

I squealed in delight as I pulled away the little blood red ribbon and revealed what was inside.

My jaw dropped at the pieces before me. An intricate necklace made from various materials shone under my light.

Was that a jaw bone from something? I brought it up closer and examined the chain.

It was made from a white material I didn’t recognize, tightly braided together in a sturdy fashion.

It was the matching earrings that stole the show.

Intricately carved on an ivory colored material, I was almost afraid to wear it anywhere.

My eyes blurred and I sniffed.

“What the hell is wrong now? I thought human females liked gifts,” he growled, rubbing the back of his neck. “I didn’t know when your birthday was, so I figured I’d start the new year with this,” he grumbled dejectedly.

I carefully closed the box, and then threw my arms around him, knocking him on his back. Peppering his face with kisses, I squealed again whispering how much his gift meant to me.

Somewhere between my kisses and my gratitude, my tongue slipped. “I love you, D.”

His hands gripped my hips harder, making me squirm. “I would kill for you again and again even if you didn’t love me, little carrion. Because you’re mine. Don’t even think about leaving me.”

I threw my head back and laughed as he lifted me up bridal style and carried me to bed while the sun began to set.

The night brought on a different kind of dream this time.

Lost in a haze of lust and sweat, I writhed in the sheets, trying to find reprieve.

There was a soft hum against my skin and my hands crawled down to the back of someone’s hand.

It swatted me away and I blinked a few times, lost in limbo. Was I still dreaming? Was I waking up?

I took a sharp inhale when something hard and large impaled my pussy from behind.

“Be a good girl and go back to sleep,” came a gruff, familiar masculine voice.

Was I ever going to stop having these naughty dreams about my demon? Maybe that was one of his abilities. Maybe he was an incubus in disguise. I giggled and sighed as my dream demon slowly rocked his hips against me, making sure to bury himself deeply with each thrust.

My hands flitted to my stomach, feeling the distension every time he pushed my insides around.

I whispered that I loved him in my dreams, smiling as he whispered something in a tongue I couldn't recognize. But one thing was for sure, I felt every word with every thrust as I drifted back into the darkness of my mind.
