“The women are gone,” I announce as I step back outside. I went in to grab another beer and also check on Avery, but the common room was empty. They had disappeared. That’s never a good sign.
“I knew we shouldn’t have left them unsupervised,” Shadow groans. “If you haven’t paid up your dues for your women, do it now. Dragons included.”
“Why the hell do you need a fucking bail fund anyway?” Rogue demands, but he pulls out his wallet anyway to hand Shadow some bills.
I hear a phone ring, and stop to see Simba frowning as he pulls his phone from his pocket. “It’s Taz. Wherever the women are, he’s probably with them.” He answers, but then asks incredulously, “Where the fuck are you? What the fuck do you mean you’re in jail, Taz? What the hell did you do? Wait, who’s with you?” Simba’s head whips around, and looks at Bullet. “Taz and the women got arrested and are in jail. We have to head down to the jail to bail them out.”
“Not again,” Stone groans, even as Viper laughs. The rest of us just share grim looks. This is what we get for not paying attention. All the kids were sent with Quinn’s parents, including the twins, Isla, and Sawyer, much to their annoyance. No kids at parties, though, and right now I’m grateful. I don’t even want to know what might happen if they were here.
“What did they do this time?” Bullet asks, aggravated.
“I don’t fucking know,” Simba gripes. “Taz hung up. Whatever is going on, it’s probably his fucking fault.”
“I hate to break it to you, brother, but with most of the women with him, I doubt he’s the instigator,” Shadow sighs. “Now do you see why we had you guys all pay into it? We should have at least most of the money to bail them all out.”
“Taz can bail his own ass out,” Simba huffs. “Alright, let’s go.”
We head for our bikes. Guess we’re about to find out what they did. I just hope we have enough.
